UPDATED: JAN 15, 2018 Bottled. Batch 3. Pours pitch black, tan head. Aroma is tons of bourbon, chocolate, some coffee, vanilla, thick, very intense, toffee, oak. Very nice BBA stout. Flavor is bourbon, chocolate, more and more vanilla as it warms up, toffee, oak, caramel. Really full bodied and fairly hot but it doesn't detract. Probably one of the best I've had in terms of quality but I don't get as much vanilla as I expected. But the barrel character is very prominent and is very pleasant. A little disappointed but no doubt this is an awesome stout.

Poured from a bottle. Black. Brown head. Chocolate aroma. Taste of roasted malts and vanilla. Vanilla is a little overpowering. Not worth the hype. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Mon Petit Cafe, Stuttgart. Aroma is strong vanilla, dark chocolate, coconut, barrel notes. Thick body, lasting mouthfeel. Taste is sweet belgian chocolate, lots of vanilla, very deep. Aftertaste is vanilla pudding, zero roast or alcohol. Impressive.

From bottle at kermis’ b-day tasting at Kwartje. Black with tan head. Massive sweet and deep roasted chocolate malts. Big fudge, caramel, deep roasted espresso bean, massive vanilla bean. Big sweet and bitter. Full body, so supple it seems to melt on your tongue. Massive, lovely, sexy smooth.

Bottle shared at kermis' birthday. Black with small light brown head. Massive chocolate, fudge, vanilla, sweet bourbon, some cognac, licorice, brown sugar, raisins. Very sweet, light bitter and a touch of sourness. Full bodied with low carbonation and bit oily feel. Very good but a bit boozy.

Bottle. Pours near opaque brown with no head. Aroma is vanilla, bourbon, wafers, milk chocolate. Taste is bourbon heat, vanilla sweet, vanilla bitter, chocolate sweet, chocolate bitter, bourbon heat. Medium body with a silky mouthfeel. Aroma is better than the taste.

Bottle consumed at Cap Tap. Pours near black with a modest tan head and a huge aroma that includes treacle, vanilla, chocolate and bourbon. There is a full-bodied dark molasses flavor with a lot of chocolate, a moderate amount of vanilla and quite a bit of bourbon. A big delicious beer.

2017 bottle. Dark brown pour, no head. Aroma is amazing. Chocolate, vanilla, walnut, slight bourbon. Taste chocolate, roasted malt bitterness, vanilla with a big bourbon barrel at the end. Medium body with prickly carbonation. Bourbon lingers on the finish...a bit hot. Very good but way overhyped.

bottle and tap. Pitch black. Complex with deep notes of vanilla. Sweet but not too much. Awesome
