Bottle, courtesy of Connor. Shared at Cloudwater. Cheers pal! Nearly black. Ring of tan head. Nose has melted chocolate. Vanilla pod. Fudge. Milky coffee. Some barrel character. Taste is sweet and chocolatey. Some woody bitterness. Mouthfeel is rich and smooth. Drinks silly easy at the ABV. Silky chocolate and coffee to finish. Bottle. Pitch black with light to moderate, light brown, semi-densed head. Moderate head retention and poor lacing. Aroma is full of chocolate, full of cocoalight to moderate maple syrup notes (slightly raw), barrel notes and on moderate level, not really aggressive, neither boozy. Taste is heavy sweet all time long, slightly bitter in the end. Body is rather medium, carbonation is soft, texture is oily, finish is slightly boozy and warming. After warming up the maple syrup and cocoa notes are more intense and dominate among all aromas. In overall great stout from BL, but not the best from them I’ve drunken so far. Not even the best, comparing to other "maple syrup stouts" IMO Cycle Thursday’17 is better. Still great brew. ClarkVV (6893) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 30, 2017

Inky/oilly, pitch black, undetermined clarity, assumedly opaque.
Smells very rich and intense and quite good. There’s a ton of moderately fudgey caramel-chocolate up front, with vanilla filling out the edges, but it transitions quickly to more dry bourbon notes and finally plentiful acidity from the coffee and dark malts. Really enjoyable cherry-vanilla-like character created from the mix of the barrel/bourbon and base malt with no overdone coffee, toasted oak or even alcohol. Surprising, given how young it is.
Slick, with intense vanilla and strong cherry and fudge flavors. Huge amounts of base malt provide a very malty, soft texture with low but engaging carbonation keeping it buoyant. The oak and/or bourbon provides a lot of coconut but there’s enough malt to soak it up and it doesn’t seem to dominate. With warming, more cherry, moderate tar and long toffee notes emerge to add complexity and dry the beer out slightly, in concert with roasted acidity. The very spritzy, tight carbonation, barrel tannin and acidity here provide enough balance and the beer shows enough attenuation to prevent it from coming off syrupy, even despite the massive amount of malt/sugar in here. Long, long, complex, lingering flavors of bourbon, fruit and coffee. Alcohol pretty well-concealed underneath all of the malt. Very pleasant surprise to find this not a syrup/fudge/bourbon bomb. Reminds me a lot of Cycle.
On tap at Bottlecraft Little Italy, San Diego. Pours black with small tan head. Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, nuts, nutella, vanilla, sweet. Oily texture, soft carbonation. Warming, some bourbon. Full bodied. AirForceHops (7910) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 8, 2017
Bottle shared by AdamChandler, dude, much thanks! Pours pitch black with a thin brown head. Aromas of vanilla, mellow bourbon, light notes of coconut. AdamChandler (5183) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 8, 2017
Flavor of cocoa, steady roast, toffee, and lasting bourbon. Full, thick, chewy body with lingering vanilla. ABV is pretty hidden, 12.5 %? No way! Damn, so good.
Gave a dude a ride in my car in Belgium and he gave me this bottle as a thank you. I like Imperial Stouts. Split 4 ways at fridge temp. 2017 Release. Korcz (3390) - Warsaw, POLAND - MAY 14, 2017
A - Midnight black, thick, nice boozy legs. no head.
S - Smells like a pancake breakfast. Maple syrup totally dominates the aroma along with butterscotch candies and milk chocolate.
T - maple, bourbon, coffee, vanilla, cocoa. sure all there but an overall toasty quality that is really sticky and tasty.
M - Very creamy mouthfeel, Dense and finishes bitter with a fleeting cocoa flavor.
O - This is a solid beer. It’s not a 15% booze-bomb. just a load of flavor in a small package.
