Bottle 33cl bought at De Hopduvel in Gent. Pours hazy blond with almost no head at all. Nose: parfume. Cinnamon, ginger, some malts. Taste: low carboration. Lot’s of ginger taste and some hints of malts. Not much extra. Terrible beer to be honest.

33cl bottle: BBD 10/2015. Drank at home in 06/2015. Bought from Rudi in De Bierboom, Brugge some time ago. Poured slowly into a Westmalle chalice, it was still cloudy even though I did not allow any sediment to leave the bottle. On top was a wispy head and a thin collar, more or less no head: but it was not a vigorous pour. Strange aroma of washing up liquid with bubble gum and rotting vegetables. After my initial sips I added the sediment from the bottle to hopefully enhance and intensify the flavours and taste: oh dear! Chemical, yeasty and an unpleasant orangey twang: whatever spices (Coriander, Bay Leaves?) they have added has had a detrimental effect on the base beer, or I hope it did! Not my cup of tea.

Thanks to Kraddel! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ Rampkrot. Speculoos beer. The label has a crappy picture of bread & it is called Cuvée of the baker. This brewery is truly terrible at everything. How bad can your marketing be? How hard can it be to take a picture of speculoos & clearly market this? I truly do not care for this brewery. Pours a hazy orange, little nasty bubbles, even the appearance is off-putting. Nose is rotting cinnamon, chemical nutmeg, rotting wheat, nasty rotting barn,… Taste is chemical, decay, rotting barn, chemical apple juice, artificial nutmeg, rotting plastic, truly nasty,… Fizzy & moldy body. Garbage really. Bouillon, sigh,……

Bouteille 33cl @ Marché des Produits Luxembourgeois ’14. BB 04/2016.

33cl, as La Cuvée du Boulanger, new exclusive brew Anno 2013, with ’speculoos’, from De Hopduvel Gent, not complex brew, malty/spicy and slightly sweet, not balanced, hazy, nearly no head, nothing special

EddyBeer1 (1058) - Brussels, BELGIUM - SEP 18, 2013
UPDATED: NOV 3, 2013 Achetée au Marché Gaumais de Bruxelles. Blonde dorée trouble, sédiments en suspension, effervescence moyenne (plutôt gazeuse), mousse tombe rapidement. Assez bien maltée, un peu sûre, épicée (cannelle), notes de fruits... sûrs, petite amertume. Mouais...
