2oz on tap at Chappy’s. Really nutty, kind of sweet smell. Clear brown color. Thin ring of off-white head. Nutty, toasty aroma. Kind of sweet taste, very light bitterness. Light to medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Interesting decent malty toasty nutty porter. Drinks like a nice nut brown ale. JaBier (8112) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - MAR 7, 2014
On tap at Winking Lizard Grandview. Darkest brown in color with a thick tan head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, hazelnut and roast. Malty and caramelly flavor with hazelnut and chocolate before a roasty finish. OPIE788 (336) - Ohio, USA - FEB 20, 2014
Draft. Dark brown color. Nutty cola flavor with a burnt sugar aftertaste. Not terrible but not memorable. Brigadier (3710) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - FEB 13, 2014

An unusual beer jumped out by name and then followed through a fine sales pitch. Because of the origins I was a little skeptical. However after trying it the combination actually works. I don’t know that I would regularly want to drink beers like this but on this occasion it worked.
Aroma / Appearance - A creamy black base is thick like a slurry of iced coffee thawing on the counter. Flat beige head is paired with hazelnut, black coffee, sweet creamer, and dark fruits. Coupled with those the background of pleasing malts adds up to a robust package.
Flavor / Palate - Hazelnut, coffee, and that dry sweet texture are almost like an iced coffee drink in a pint glass. Hard to pin down it almost feels like something off of a dessert tray. A nice discovery was well worth ordering.
Sample at Winking Lizard. The beer is a dark brown color with some amber around the edges, and a medium foamy tan head that dissipates slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Light-bodied with flavors of roast malt, sweet chocolate and subtle hazelnut. The finish is somewhat thin and roasty with a malty aftertaste. Just average overall.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2014 On draft. A Dark brown color with little head. Doughy taste with hints of coffee. Sweet aftertaste. Not a bad beer, but not my style. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - JAN 12, 2014
(draft @ Lizardville - Bedford Heights, OH) Dark brown pour with a thick tan head. Sweet and nutty aroma with some roasted chocolate and coffee hints. Flavor is kind of sweet and lightly chocolaty with a mild nutty finish. Didn’t get the hazelnut flavor that I expected from a hazelnut porter, but not bad besides that.
