Better than average IPA with ample hop profile and a good palate. Very clean drinking and a pleasant (if somewhat strong) lingering aftertaste. IPFreely (1470) - Sanborn, New York, USA - JUN 16, 2005
Bottle. Deep golden or light amber, whichever you prefer, white head. Pretty full hop aroma and flavor, decent malt balance. The hops are citrusy, slightly piney. Medium bodied, bitter finish, light dryness. Pretty nice IPA. jmcguire1969 (163) - Lafayette, Colorado, USA - JUN 16, 2005
When RBC came out with Hazed I loved it...this is a good extention of that. A good IPA with the standard citrus armoa and flavor. A little too sweet for my taste...but that adds to the ABV I’m sure. This is not your fathers mustache. FROTHINGSLOSH (8141) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 6, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2006 I just managed to try this one on draft and from the bottle in the last 2 days. Of the 2 versions I like the bottle better and this rating is for the bottle. The beer poured a bright copper color with a medium sized yellow head. The aroma is strong with fruity hops. The flavor is strongly sweet with a nice fruity hop character that reflects the Amarillo characteristics quite well. This makes a nice showcase beer for the Amarillo hop. The mouthfeel is fairly thick and syrupy. TheBeerOrg (2145) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUN 2, 2005
Golden with white head. Citrus hop aroma assaults the nose. Slightly chewy mouthfeel, oily hops. Excellent finish for an IPA, not too bitter. Was shocked by the abv, the alcohol is well hidden behind the hops.

Light amber/golden, nose of grass and hop, lightly malty, with a fair amount of hops. Overall, generally unimpressive. brewrater (92) - uniontown, Ohio, USA - MAY 22, 2005
Similar to the good LeftCoast IPAs like Stone and Sierra Nevada. Kindred in their use of floral hops while this tends to have just enough more IBUs to notice. Solid entry in this style. guzzler67 (1696) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - MAY 19, 2005
Slightly hazy, amber appearance with a small white head. Pine and citrus dominate the hoppy nose, along with some earthiness toward the end. Grapefruit and other citrus flavors show up on the palate. Nicely carbonated with a medium-bodied mouthfeel. Dry, bitter finish Zeswaft (1780) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 19, 2005
UPDATED: AUG 16, 2007 At first I thought there was nothing special about this beer; an average IPA. The amarillo hops jump out the bottle the second you open it. Flavor is rich and citrusy. The bitterness lingers for a long time. The more you drink the better it gets. An above average IPA but nothing spectacular. jigglyjock (165) - Longmont, Colorado, USA - MAY 18, 2005
Rich sweet, malt hop aroma with hints of aprocot fruit leather. The color is a clear light orange, with a descent white head. Has a complex IPA flavor. Heavy malt dominates the flavor with a nice bitter hop backbone. As you swallow the beer, it has a slight sticky consistancy that holds on to your tongue. Has a slight sweet aprocote flavor. An excellent beer made right here in my hometown!
