A- Alcohol, subtle cocoa, roasty.
A- Black color, dark liquid, light brown head.
T- Rubbing Alcohol, dry, subtle cocoa, malty.
P- Medium body, sharp texture, average carbonation, burning finish.
O- I must have had a bad tap line on this draft or something. Tasted like not much other than alcohol and a bit of burn. I got nothing that most of these other reviews show. I’ve never cared for many of the Boulder/OC collabs so I doubt under the right conditions this would be much better. shigadeyo (3730) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 2, 2013

5/04/2011: Boulder Black Diamond Chocolate Porter... Aroma: Roasted malts, coffee candy. Appearance: Medium Coffee brown color, looks opaque in the glass, thin beige crown. Flavor: Thin, watery, and sweet, lots of vanilla and tootsie roll like chocolate, light roastiness (mostly in the finish) and cocoa nibs with some herbal hops. Palate: Medium body, really soft and falls off quickly. Overall: Weak, watery, and disappointing.
Draught (5.5% ABV) at Dutch’s in Cincinnati, Ohio. Rating #18 for this beer.
On draft. Pours a deep black, creamy white head. Taste is sweet chocolate, a bit much on the sweet side, but overall not too bad. DalzAle (2036) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - JAN 3, 2013
Tap. Dark black pour, rich 1/2 inch head and an aroma of bakers chocolate. Flavor is rich dark chocolate a little sweet lactose sugar and a little peat on the aftertaste. Really nice. cjn_Architect (6) - Normal, Illinois, USA - JAN 1, 2013 does not count

Had on draft at Old Chicago. Pours a dark brown with a decent and lingering white head. Chocolate, sweetness and burnt malts predominate. Nicely balanced and not cocoa overpowering. Liked it!

Draft at Old Chicago, Southgate. Pours a dark brown color with a 1 cm head that lingers a good while. This smells almost exactly like chocolate milk. Taste is very much like chocolate milk too with just a touch of light roasted malt. Medium body and creamy mouthfeel. Really good beer for fans of chocolate milk. jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - DEC 3, 2012
Draft at Ol Chi Rockford. Pours black with a good bit of dark tan head. Aroma of chocolate milk with a hint of coffee. Pretty sweet stuff, but not so sweet that I couldn’t drink it all night...because I totally could. richlikebeer (838) - Easton, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 3, 2012
Kinda flat, but otherwise this is a great cocoa porter...they have managed to avoid the common problem of cloying sweetness and have a well balanced flavor between the burnt malts and the chocolate...very enjoyable
