Our twist on the traditional american porter, Shake chocolate porter is black in color with rich, dark chocolate aromatics and flavors and subtle coffee-like notes. This unique brew blends five different grains, including Chocolate Wheat, that along with cacao nibs create a devilishly delicious chocolate finish with a velvety mouth feel.

Thin light tan head of fine bubbles. Sweet malts, molasses, chocolate and light roasted grains. Color is a very dark brown. Flavor of more chocolate and roasted grains. Not as sweet as the aroma. Pretty well balanced actually. Soft malty mouthfeel with light alcohol presence. Finishes sweet and a tad dry. A decent chocolate porter.

Type: 16-oz. draft Glass: Dos Equis shaker pint glass From: Meehans Public House in Atlanta, Ga. Price: $7 Purchased: Dec. 8, 2016 Consumed: Dec. 8, 2016 Reviewed as: American Porter Misc.: N/A Found a pretty cool beer spot close by to the hotel and headed over that on my last night in Atlanta. Wish I would have seen this the night before. Thought I had this one before, but alas I had not. Sounded pretty damn good. Poured a pitch black color with three fingers of creamy white, rocky head when I got it. Appeared to be nitro it was that creamy. Excellent foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.25) Smelled milk chocolate, bitter coffee, vanilla, caramel, toffee, espresso hints of hazelnut, maybe even peanut butter (wishful?). (Smell - 4.50) Taste followed the nose, maybe not quite as good. Chocolate milk, vanilla, caramel, toffee, roasty nuts and milk chocolate. (Taste - 4.25) Full body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.50) Just loved this beer. Cant believe I had never tried it, but I want it again. (Overall - 4.50) 4.39 97 A

Draft. It poured a dark brown with a nice tan head. The aroma was milk chocolate. It was very sweet, like drinking a glass of hard chocolate milk.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Cigarette City. Appearance is dark brown with finger-width light brown foamy head with fair retention and fair lacing. Aroma is strong cocoa. Taste is strong sweet milk chocolate with light bitter ending. Palate is medium bodied with smooth, thick texture, average carbonation and mix of sweet and bitter finish. Overall, it certainly scores high on the chocolate front and if it tasted like this without cacao nibs Id give it higher marks, but it is pretty much a one-trick pony without any complexity. Good dessert beer.
