With roots in two of today’s most popular brewing styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by our brewers and cellarmen. Their efforts to craft a hybrid yielded a bumper crop of flavor; a delightfully distinctive ale with the aroma of an IPA and the refreshing taste of a wheat beer.

Poured a hazy yellow colour with a fluffy white head. Aroma of wheat grass, yeast, and citra hops. Flavor is lemon, wheat, and herbal spice. Medium bodied with medium carbonation ending in a crisp, soft bitter finish. Nice blend of hop and wheat characters.

This has so much flavor it’s ridiculous. The aroma is massive amounts of sweet yeast followed by lemon citrus hoppiness. Smells absolutely delicious. It’s super hazy from the unfiltered wheat which just adds to the overall complexity of this beer. I can’t imagine the balancing act it takes to make an essentially wheat ipa. So much lemon, citrus and that nice sweetness you’d expect from a wheat beer. Really refreshing and super drinkable, this one is a no brainer. Cheers

The yeast aromatics interact with the hops and it creates a weird aroma. Appearance is a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Flavor is funky blend of piney hops and esters. Mouthfeel is medium with medium carbonation. Overall, the yeast esters clash with the hops and it creates a weird aroma and flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

My Bottom Line:
Lemon zest allusions and herbaceous edges tickle this balanced and very refreshing wheat beer.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam decorates the shiny yellow haze.
-The mouthfeel is cuddly; not too dry, but super soft and easily poundable.
-Wheat creates bready connotations.
-You can almost imagine lactose in here.
-The hop character is harmonious with the rest of the beer and super refreshing (New World citrus allusions).

Cloudy straw colored beer with a thick pillowy bright white head. Nose of orange peel, lemongrass, and coriander. Flavor is bright with citrus, which gives way to a mild resinous bitterness followed by refreshing sour spice. Crisp and refreshing, this is a delicious beer that would be great on a hot summer day.

Appearance: pours a very hazy light gold color, pours with a very large off white head that settles into a nice density Aroma: grass, pine, citrus, smells like a good session ipa Taste: grass, pine, lightly toasted grain, wheat, lemon, hints of sourness even Palate: lively carbonation, slight bitter aftertaste, medium to light mouthfeel Overall: this is delicious, it really lives up to the description, has a nice hop character with a light wheat background, not very bitter but not bland either ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bubbly hazy yellow brew with small head. Smells a faint lemon grass and gatorade. Good mix of citrus hops to this wheat making it taste better than the aroma led me to believe. This is like a hopped up Hefeweizen and is pretty good stuff. Got this in a winter sampler but this is a definate summer time beer. Would like to find a 12 pack of this long about April or May (that’s when summer starts round here).

Pours yellow-gold and cloudy with a thick white head. Aroma is sweet fermented grains and faint spice. Taste is a silky smooth light wheat ale. The wheat is very prominent in this one and blended well with the syrupy sweetness. There is a mildly bitter mid and finish (long finish) from the hops. Not bad.

Not at Gumballhead or Sumpin levels but a good hoppy wheat with grassy and lightly citrusy notes on a lean wheat body. Refreshing and tasty, and nothing like an IPA despite the hoppy inclination.
