COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With roots in two of today’s most popular brewing styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by our brewers and cellarmen. Their efforts to craft a hybrid yielded a bumper crop of flavor; a delightfully distinctive ale with the aroma of an IPA and the refreshing taste of a wheat beer.

Tap. Poured hazy pale color with an average white frothy head that mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate complex hop and wheat aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.

Pours hazy yellow with a thin layer of white head. Aroma is mostly piney citrus resin. I can’t make out many typical wheat aromas due to the hops. Flavor is light with mostly lemon citrus that resembles a shandy. Not overly fruity but enough to be overly refreshing while maintaining the semblance of a beer.

Beautiful cloudy bright yellow with good white head. Very pleasing on the eyes and palate. Aroma is bright hoppy citrus with a bit of a ’stinky weed’ note. Flavor brings out the wheatiness, but there is still that undeniable bright citrusy/earthy/herbal hop flavor. Bitterness is moderately low, but there. Good carbonation. Fairly refreshing as well. I really dug this.

Bottled sample at the 9th Annual Summertime Brews Festival, Greensboro, 7/13/13. Pours a hazy yellow color with a large creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of spicy, herbal hops with a wheat finish. The taste is stone fruits, wheat, spicy hops. Medium bodied. Solid beer.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. The aroma is filled with a large dose of citrusy American hops, orange, there is a fruity, doughy wheat aroma. The flavor is similar, with the hops being juicy citrus fruits. There is a palate filling doughy flavor. A nice beer, a little to full of a palate for the triple digit weather we have been having.

Bottle Pour is a hazy yellow/gold with a big fluffy head that dies down to a lot of clinging foam on the side of the glass and a few patches of it on the surface. Aromas are interestingly hoppy, but not quite what I expected... lots of lemon and pear with a little honey. Flavor follows along those lines... sweet and malty with a nice lemony edge to it. It’s kind of chewy on the palate at times, but still refreshing and nice enough.

Lemon yellow pour with a half inch head. Aroma is of lemon zest and citrus hops. Definite wheat flavor up front, with a nice creamy body. Hops come through towards the middle with a lot of lemon, orange and grapefruit. Smooth finish, lingering citrus and just slightly bitter. Tasty, very well balanced and pretty unique.

On tap at Taco Mac. 20 oz pour. Cloudy, straw color typical of a wheat beer. A good bit of hops, like a pale ale or even some IPAs, and very easy to drink. The perfect summer beer for an IPA lover.
