COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With roots in two of today’s most popular brewing styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by our brewers and cellarmen. Their efforts to craft a hybrid yielded a bumper crop of flavor; a delightfully distinctive ale with the aroma of an IPA and the refreshing taste of a wheat beer.

[Bottle] Pours very pale gold with a small white head. Aroma has a blast of citrus up front, which unfortunately quickly fades, leaving behind just dusty wheat. Not that the wheat is bad in the aroma, but it would have paired nicely with sustained hoppiness. The taste has no off flavors, although the alcohol is noticeable as it warms. Not a whole lot stands out, as the taste is definitely malt-driven. A little lemon in the background, and mild bitterness. Very pleasant though. Thin mouthfeel, quite dry, and fairly short finish. Overall, a beer that I could drink a lot of, especially in the summer. In fact, the extreme sessionability of this beer is winning it some major points. However, this beer does fall well short of many of the New Glarus wheat beers I really love.

Sampler at Boulevard Beer Hall. Pours golden with a white head. Leaves a lot of lacing in the glass. Lots of lemony hops on the nose and tongue. Finished clean and without a ton of bitterness. This one's a real easy drinker.

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2017 Love this beer! Even though it says hoppy, it is not overly hoppy. Wheat comes through as well, making for a great tasting beer, one that I find myself going back to.

Poured a slightly hazy straw golden with a dense white head which lingered......aroma is bread, earth, clove.....taste follows aroma. Very little hoped for hop taste, but a touch of clove finish.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of bready malt, peppery spices, floral hops, clove. Flavor of tangy fruits, floral notes, lemon, pale malt, clove, spices, orange zest. Decent beer, not too hoppy, but a little different than your standard wheat beer,

Bottle from West Side. Pours a clear deep straw gold with 2 fingers of foam. Light grain on the nose, grassy hops with some light lemon. Clean and crisp with active carbonation. Finish is quite dry with a bit of yeast. Has great Belgian dryness like a De La Senne beer in a way.
