COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Few beer styles can match the delicate, sparkling character of the classic Berliner Weisse, with its light body and tart palate. It’s said that Napoleon’s troops referred to it as “The Champagne of the North,” high praise for beer, coming from Frenchmen. With Berliner Weisse, we pay tribute to the style, while giving it a distinctively American twist. Bright and thirst-quenching, the beer is enlivened by soft lactic notes.

Bottle. A- Lemon, lactic acid, dusty, A- Gold color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Mild funk, tart, slightly salty, sour, lemon, yogurt. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- An old bottle, almost 8 months passed the best by date. Still holds up alright. Typically one might think of this as a refreshing beer post lawnmowing. I for change, think it's a refreshing beer post blizzard snow shoveling. Either way, it's like the grown man's gatorade. Not bad but probably better fresh.

Lightly hazy and golden, thin to no head. Yeasty and lactic aroma. Good front flavor, citrus and funky. Moderate palate, with sparkling that isn't especially bubbly but the tartness is enough to make it tingle. Easy drinking. O.k. Bottle.

Turbid golden with white head. Tart citrus, hops, earthy nose, flavors of tart lemon, apricot, yeast, lactic acid. Smooth finish.

Pours a not very clear, yellow straw color. Lightly carbonated. One finger white head which reduces to a film. Very thin lacing.

Aroma is tart and a lactic. A little persimmon, a touch of lemon.

Taste is tart. Good, but restrained. Again lactic, but more so in the finish. A little white pepper for some spice. Touch of lemon gives it some brightness.

Mouthfeel is light, tart, dry and refreshing. Lactic. Soft carbonation sort of amplifies the lactic, makes it feel a little yogurty.

Overall, this is a good one. Solid, simple, nothing crazy or experimental. I say that, but I still think it's a little restrained. I recommend this, and I would buy it again.

Oh boy, I'm in the dining room,
Pours just about as nice as an ol' Berliner could pale yellow, lots of bubbles, big fluffy white head, lil bit hazy.

The aroma is mild & a touch fruity, mostly dominated by yogurty lactic stuff, which is just fine.

The flavor is tart and fruity, far from bone dry but certainly not sweet either. Charming in the same light and mildly citrusy way that their flagship wheat beer finds it's self. It almost feels like a more modern version of that classic crusher to be honest.

Refreshing, flavorful and light... on all accounts enjoyable.

hershiser2 (3881) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - OCT 31, 2017
On tap at Sedona. Pours perhaps slightly hazy golden. Aroma is tart, slightly fruity, but not strong. Flavor is tart fruit, some lemon but not just lemon, a little cardboard but not a ton.

Bottle. Pours a golden color with white head. Lemon, tart, wheat, sugary cheerio aromas. Tart, lemon, cereal flavors. Easy drinking, but not a top notch berliner.
