COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The intense flavors of dark-roasted malt in our rendition of the classic English porter are perfectly balanced by a generous and complex hop character. Bully! Porter’s robust nature makes it the ideal companion to a variety of foods, from seafood to chocolate.

On tap at the Boulevard brewery tasting room. Maybe would have been better if I had washed out the lingering taste of Love Child. Was expecting more sweetness. Like the Early Riser much better.

Originally rated on 9/11/08. "I like bottle conditioned beers, I cant remember if i ever had a B.C. porter though, it was kind of interesting. The secondary fermentation led to a massive tan head that would not go away. Intial aroma was very faint of apples, then the malty coffee took over. Mouthfeel is smooth but not too heavy, the heavy carbonation gave it a little bite. Flavor of coffee and carmel with a dry finish.

Pretty dark pour with a retaining mocha head that leaves some lacing. The aroma is surprisingly faint with a bit of roast coming through. The taste is a complexity of bitterness. The roasted malt and hops far out weigh anything sweet that may be implied. It’s a little difficult to drink with all of the bitter flavoring but overall a pretty solid beer!
