COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Changeling is an enchanting blend of dark sour ales aged in both wine and whiskey barrels, and inoculated with Brettanomyces yeast. It pours a deep ruby, with touches of gold at the rim. Leading with plum and toasty malt, the flavor turns gently but unmistakably tart. Notes of earthy, funky Brett and a touch of lingering caramel sing on the long finish, creating a delicate balance.

Dark pour with a head that grows frothy. A bit of fruit and malty barrel alcohol on the nose. Overall a nice dark sour. Reminds me of many if the nice Flemish reds and browns. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark color, brown, unclear. Deep aroma, sour, woody, dark fruits, a bit vinous. Aggressive mouthfeel, sour; dark fruits, wood, some astringency, balsamic, quite complex.
Very good.

Bottle from Willow Market in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is brett funk, cherries, balsamic vinegar, dark fruits. Taste is sweet balsamic, tannic red wine, tart and stewed plums. Dry, tannic and astringent finish that sucks out the flavors out of your palate.

750ml bottle @ the office. Pours a medium opaque medium brown colour with a small beige head. Nose is a lovely bouquet of wine, whiskey barrels, light balsamic, and hints of brett funk. Flavour is much simpler than what the nose has to offer. It is lightly toasted, some balsamic with a mild sourness, while earthy and there is a slight harshness lingering in the background. It's still good, but I wish it imparted more of the nose into flavour complexity.

Medium brown. No head. The nose is woody, bit of whisky, and also vinous, and quite fruity. On the palate, there's tartness, and definitely vinous character. Light brett, and it finishes with bretty dryness, too, but the barrel seems to have left some sweetness. Interesting character. This is complex...not necessarily loving it, but I appreciate the wildly complex character.
