Pours a medium, well retained, light beige head, with slight lacing, over a clear brown (SRM 22) body.....nose is coffee, light toffee, hints of cinnamon....taste is coffee, hints of cocoa, light toffee/caramel sweetness, with hints of lactose, finishing with a coffee dominated bitterness......mouth feel light of medium, mild astringency, alcohol hidden!, carbonation adds to a clean finish. This is a nicely balanced beer, with the bean, malt, hop backbones all coming together quite well. The only possible flaw is the light palate, but that may have been the alcohol subtly hidden. Dark brown coloured body with a large, five centimetre tall deep tan and light brown head. Aroma of pure coffee cherries with a very pungent earthiness coupled with some subdued caramel and toffee sweetness - but this one is all about the coffee/hull. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive earthiness and deep bitter coffee flavour with some alcohol bite and a touch of caramelised sugars on the finish. Aftertaste shows a good balance of coffee bitterness and sweetness with a lot of earth notes tucked in. Overall, a good and very representative beer with a ton of coffee hull/cherry flavour with a bit of brewed coffee notes and a bit more of the caramel and sweet flavours noticeable. 750 ml bottle via local STL trade. Pours a deep coffee brown with a massive rocky beige head that takes a while to settle into a small ring. Aroma of coffee, cocoa beans, earth, dark fruits, earth, nuts, and toast. Flavor of old cold coffee, nuts, toast, dark fruits, rye spice, and earth. Light-bodied, with minimal carbonation and a palate that starts smooth and dries up late. Pretty odd beer, maybe with a slight carbonation issue. Not bad, though.

Bottle. Pours with a hazy brown hued body with a large tan head. Aromas are of coffee, estery, earthy, nutty, fudge, currants, raisins, medium malt. Nose carries a big espresso burst, coffee cake, sugars.
Taste comprises coffee cake, tirimasu, brown bread, biscuit, dark caramel, demerara sugar.
Medium to full body with fine carbonation, sweet finish.

Good but not as good as I hoped. The aroma was definitely of coffee but with a strong malty presence. The color is like iced tea with a small head. The palate is the best part with a heavy feel that comes across as creamy. Lower level carbonation. Anything more would detract. The coffee flavor doesn’t translate as much as I would have expected because there was a lot more going on. Heavy malts with a sweetness. Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pour reddish brown with a modest tan head and a coffee aroma. There is a roasty rye flavor with a carbonated and bitter coffee finish. Very complex.
