Neighbors for nearly twenty years, Boulevard Brewing Company and The Roasterie share a passion for making extraordinary beverages. In Coffee Ale, our two celebrated brewing traditions come together in a long-awaited collaboration. Ethiopian Sidamo from Africas Great Rift Valley has been carefully blended with rye, oats, and malted barley, and spiced with Perle and Styrian Golding hops. The delightfully fragrant beer presents a glowing, tawny-amber hue. The clean, crisp acidity of the air-roasted coffee mingles with malt on the palate, lingering faintly in a subtly sweet finish.

Hazy dark amber with no head. The nose smells of stale cold coffee. Thankfully the flavor has a bit of chocolate and roasted malt biscuitiness, as well as a firm touch of coffee throughout, unfortunately the coffee note is the same as the aroma but not as off putting; like room temperature coffee gone stale.

Sample at a Systembolaget tasting. Lots of coffee in the smell. Light body with coffee. The coffee remains in my mouth for a while. If you like coffee this should suit you well.

Pours clear dark brown with a lasting off white head. Woody coffee aroma. Taste is a bit acidic with a strong coffee presence. A bit damp and bitey. Finish is strong and sweet.

Tootsie Roll brown beer with a foamy tan head that sets up in peaks. Pleasant nose of light roast coffee, brown sugar, and nutmeg. Prominent coffee flavor up front, including a coffee bitterness, which then develops into a longer lasting hop bitterness. Under notes of milk chocolate, vanilla, and wood create a semi-sweet beer overall. Lightly carbonated with a creamy mouth feel this is an enjoyable beer with good flavor and some unique characteristics. Would definitely drink this again.

Poured a brownish color from the bottle, aromas of roast, light chocolate, and some coffee. Flavors are the same, light and thin on the plate, I wanted a little more from this beer but decent overall.

Bottle @ Casa de Greg, picked up at Wilburs Fort Collins. Holy fucken balls, the foam is out of control on this slut. No apparent sign of infection in the nose. Hazy brown appearance. Slight metallic, cola, caramel, a bit sweet, lightly roasted coffe aroma. A bit twangy, milk chocolate, mocha, light coffee, earthy, creamy flavor with a soft yeast presence. Pretty good but not as good as some of their releases.
