Very sweet caramel nose. Cloudy thick murky caramel brown color. Biscuity with a sweet toffee mid and back palate finishing with some peppery spice. Good, but a bit disjointed. Feel like some time in the bottle would do this one good. Bit too sweet for my taste, and alcohol is hot. Travlr (26105) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - SEP 10, 2012
Draft. Hazy brown color, medium tan head. Aroma of burnt toast, caramel. Taste is dark fruit with a burnt edge. Nice. trevor211 (1681) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 9, 2012
Cola brown, med head. Dry, roasty, just a bit of fruit for sweetness. Maybe some burnt toffee. A mild flavor, though - delicate, but maybe a bit too much so. AirForceHops (7815) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 9, 2012
Draft @ The Ale House. Served in a Boulevard tulip, deep brown with red highlights, thin yet dense head( tan in color) good retention. Nose has tons of malt, chocolate and caramel dominate. English malts come through. Hops are not noticeable through all the malt. Lots of dark fruits and slightly tart berries. Weak
notes of oak. With chocolate malt and minor hints of coffee. Does show some complexity. Taste does show the 8.5% ABV however, only after I
Started eating my dinner and the glass was half emptied. The body is medium leaning on the full side. Overall is is a real finely made brew, well worth a try! barncatmatt (2355) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 9, 2012

(draught) cloudy red-amber, wispy tan bubbles. Nose of florals, cocoa, English hops, bready, caramel. Taste is richer, cocoa, oak, earthy hops, light alcohol and bread. Medium to light body. bleeng (1691) - Seattle still not near Beersel., Washington, USA - SEP 7, 2012
bottle. Pours musty brown.Sweet light malty nose. Big alcohol taste is rather sharp. Brown ale musty, musk, thin body. A bit mixed up. cubs (10714) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - SEP 7, 2012
Bottle @ home picked up at Argonaut Denver. Pours a deep brown appearance with a big, brown head. Quite herbal, grassy hoppy, somewhat earthy, cola, caramel aroma. Somewhat boozy, chewy caramel, chocolate, cola, plum, dark fruity, cracker, grassy flavor with a tangy, boozy, a bit syrupy finish. One of my least favorite beers from Boulevard. rougeau13 (3190) - Richmond, Texas, USA - SEP 6, 2012
Clear dark brown with a resilient light brown head. Aroma of caramel, cocoa, toast, nuts, and wood. The taste is sweet and slightly sour, roasty and woody with a nice bitterness and a slight alcohol bite with a bit of metal. Medium-full bodied, a tad syrupy, lightly carbonated, and a little sharp. Mostly pretty good, though the metallic flavor is a little off-putting. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - SEP 5, 2012
750, corked and baled. Pours a murky and very dark ruddied brown. Dense creamy surging tan head that settles back, leaving lots of lace. Tangy sweet nose, almost tart, like overripe fruit. Thick, fairly flat body. Fruitcake and treacle, in a heavy bready way, on the mid palate. Odd battle between residual malt sugars and tree fruit notes, not very integrated. Tangy sweetish finish.
