COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first new beer you’ll see from Boulevard Brewing Company in 2016 is Early Riser Coffee Porter. Born from friendship and a mutual love of beer, bikes, and coffee, Early Riser features Colombian Cauca Cajibio Estate custom roasted and ground at Maps Coffee Roasters by Vincent Rodriguez and a small army of his friends and family.

At 5.2 ABV and 28 IBU, Early Riser Coffee Porter features a blend of pale, caramel and chocolate malts with just a touch of wheat to form a round, smooth bodied beer with notes of coffee and chocolate that elevate rather than overpowering the beautiful coffee supplied by our friend Vincent. Hopping with Magnum and Bravo is limited to the beginning of the boil to provide just enough bitterness to balance out the sweetness of the malt. The coffee is, as it should be, the star of the beer as it shines in the flavor and aroma.

2018/01/06 - Pours a clear brown amber colour with a thin, creamy head that leaves moderate lacing. Aroma ic coffee, dark chocolate, toasted bread and roasted malts. Taste follows nose; toasted bread, coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malts. Mouthfeel is light with sharp carbonation, with a toasty, drying finish. Easy drinking. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a clear brown body with a one finger frothy brown head. The nose has a nice rich and deep coffee grinds-like intensity over a chocolate and lightly roasty malt base. The flavor is well balanced between the base beer and the coffee flavoring. Nicely rich coffee without being astringent or overdone. A nice light citrusy note from the coffee, some dark chocolate and light roast. The body is just about right for my preference, it's not thick, but there's plenty enough malt. Light soft fizzy carbonation level. Very good coffee beer, I would drink this with regularity. 3/8/8/4/16

Bottle I picked up at Maggies and brought to Lake Placid. Black-brown pour with thin tan head and spotty stick. pleasant aroma of cocoa, coffee, rosted malts. tastes are tinny coffee, light even bitter, rich caramel and chocolate, earthy. thinnish palate, light prickly carbonation. pretty straightforward, easy drinking

12 oz bottle from Liberty Beer in Pittsburgh. A nice and not too heavy coffee porter. Just the right amount of everything.

It’s a good porter but the coffee is a bit subtle which I can’t tell if that is a plus or detriment

This is good beer. Beer pours dark brown in color with a dark tan colored head that is totally retained. Rich aromas of coffee, bread, and chocolate. Taste is initially sweet. There is a nice hop bitterness in the finish. Excellent porter!!!

12 oz bottle from Dutch’s from notes. Pours dark brown in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate, hints of earthy bitterness, tobacco, the aroma is the star here.

Pours a deep brown with a small finger of beige foam. Looks like an iced coffee. Big coffee-forward nose with a touch of dark chocolate. Light on the palate. Nice simple coffee porter, that has a clean finish. Simple and elegant coffee porter.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that slid off at a decent pace. Messy lace. The aroma had some sweet and roasty malts, light milk chocolate, some dakr chocolate and some coffee tones. The flavor moderated between the roast and sweet, coffee to chocolate and back. Aftertaste was the same along with the finish. The palate was between light and medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt good. Good smooth to semi-roasty abrasion along my tongue. Overall, pretty good porter that I could come back to.
