Like many American burgs, our town was once home to a number of small, regional breweries. As they disappeared, so too went the full-flavored but easy drinking classic American lager. Today, we salute these bygone breweries and revive their legacy with Boulevard Pilsner: 100% malt, real hop character, unpasteurized. Its the taste of tradition.

Clear golden color with a small white head. Dry malt, mild fruity sweetness and mild earthy notes in the aroma. The flavor is dry malt, mild bitterness, some hops and some earthiness. Very drinkable.

hazy gold, thin white ring, large bubbled. Stale rice notes through nose, light grass. Dirty pale grain front palate, creamy body plenty of wheat mid palate.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange-tan body. Thin non-head. Clean, doughy malt tones. Pleasant mild noble hop balance. Not as bitter or as pronounced character as a German Pils, it more leans into the bready malts. A great session beer. Clean, simple. well done.

12oz bottle from Gregwilsonstl, pours a clear pale golden with a large hate head. Aroma of dry grassy slightly peppery hops and sweet malt. Sweet grain/corn tasting malt with a rather, yeast, and a one dimensional hop bitterness. Decent aroma but bland taste, overall not a bad lager beer, lawn mower beer forsure.

Ill be the first to admit that my overall experience with a beer can be greatly affected by the circumstances of when and where I drink it. Last night, I wandered into Joes Kansas City Bar-B-Que at 9:00 p.m. after a day in 96-degree heat. I was hungry as hell and just as thirsty. I got a bottle of KC Pils with pulled pork, brisket, slaw, and toast and joined the late night crowd of hungry Royals fans. KC Pils may not be the most complex beer, but the malt is clean and the hop note is crisp and beautifully refreshing. Drinking KC Pils from the bottle proved to be perfect compliment to world-class food in a humble setting. Also, the light body and fresh hops were just the right match for the savory-sweet barbecue. Drinking KC Pils in its namesake city with the locals and their food? Well, thats just pretty damn special, isnt it?
