Pours a nice clear amber with an off-white head and lacing. The aroma is not too funky, and it also has some tropical fruit and a small amount of sweetness from the bourbon. The flavor has the sourness up front with a cider-like taste, but quickly moves to a sweeter flavor with some of the bourbon in the aftertaste.

Aroma: The nose has lots of sour/tart berries, with some brett/funk, yeast, and wood
Appearance: It pours a cloudy dark orange-amber color with minimal head, and no lacing
Flavor: Tastes much like you’d expect from the nose: sour and tart with the same notes coming though
Palate: The body of this one is fairly light, it is quite drinkable, and the alcohol is rather well-hidden
I thought that this was a really good sour. Nicely made, and hits all the right marks for the style. Good job here by Boulevard. I’m glad I saw this one up on the New Arrivals - Bottles section, as it was pretty easy to miss and based on the limited number of reviews, I doubt it is something that would have stumbled over again anytime soon if I had missed it. I found this one to be quite good.
nice amber pour with a frothy cream head. nose is tart, sour, wood, vanilla, light cherry. very nice on the palate, rather tart, lightly acidic, wood, bourbon, vinous, and delicious. Smurf2055 (1400) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 28, 2012
Bottle pours deep ruby/orange with no head retention, well carbonated. Smell is very fruity, minimal oak presence. Cherry. Taste is very tart, pretty dry and coats the mouth. Puckering effect. Very nice. bleeng (1682) - Seattle still not near Beersel., Washington, USA - JUN 30, 2012
750 bottle thanks to Specs downtown Houston. Hazy, cloudy, dark amber with little head. Nice citric funky nose. Flavors overwhelming with the first taste, with lots of citrus, acidity, then toning down on the end with a faint sweetness. Can’t find the barrel or alcohol in this-hard to believe this rolls in close to 10%. It’s delicious and so easy to drink. Top quality stuff here-well done.

Hazy amber brown brew with some off-white head. Nose is funky and tart - cherry, oak, tobacco, and vanilla. Flavors of bourbon, earth, dark fruit with a vinous feel. wnoble (1251) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUL 17, 2012
Pours deep red. Head is moderate but doesn’t linger much past 30 seconds. Nose is quite tart up front with heavy notes of sweet and sour raspberries, black berries, black cherries, some lactic sourness and some light but evident basement funk. Flavor is quite tart. More intense and complex sour than the nose would reveal with some well blended acetic and lactic sour qualities but more on the lactic side. Heavy leathery malt flavors again with some light fruity berry flavors and some darker sweet malt flavor to start then finishes quite tart. Full body and carbonation is lively. Some warming qualities mixed in as well. This was quite the treat for a Tuesday night! after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - JUL 19, 2012
750, corked and baled. For once, the commercial description actually gives you a pretty clear idea of what to expect in the glass once you pour. Murky, floaty-rich dark amber with toffee bright edges. Loose gray rim around the sides of the glass. Nice woody vinous nose with a bit of cherry in there. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Green olives, wood, funky cherry, and some brightly acidic red wine on the mid palate. Tart and tangy finish. Good stuff. at $19, i just didn’t have the funds, but a sample at a tasting, thank you .. . pours a deep tan .. medium foam .. . great tarness/funkiness .. . some wood and sweet wild leather .. . very nice stuff but a whole bottle would have been way to much .. . . 750 thanks to Holly. I’m pretty sure I smelled this year’s ago on a tour. Cherry and vinegar. A nice brown tartness to this beer. Some red grapes. A bit of that so called leather in nose. Very nice.
