COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boulevards Love Child Series of "wild" ales are barrel-aged with such boisterous cultures as Lactobaccillus and Brettanomyces. These wayward offspring can prove so complex that we employ gauges on the label to convey the intensity of three key personality traits, Funk, Sour, and Fruit, presenting a picture of the ale at the time it was released. It will change as it ages, but dont we all?

Oak barrels were used to age the majority of beer used for Love Child No. 3with beer aged from 16 months to nearly six years. Another portion of the beer spent 11 months in stainless tanks, souring on Lactobacillus. While very tart, the sourness is short-lived and the beer finishes dry with a trace of oak.

Bottle from SB from a couple of years back. Pours cloudy amber with quickly disappearing head. Tart aroma and taste of vinegar, overripe fruit, apple, red berries, lightly vinous. Perfect balance between sweet and sour with a slight bite to the sour finish. Lovely altogether.

Aroma isnt too complex, pretty much just vinegaryeast. Flavors much better with fruit, spices, hint of perfume. A little alcohol warmth at the end of the Finish.

Bottle in Seattle. Cloudy, mahogany. Small creamy foam. Lovely sweet sour, whiskey is solid and welcome. Rich, tasty, rising acidic sour. Whiskey and alcohol richness is a bit balancing for the heavy sour. I dig it.

I cant remember the last time I poured a beer out. I love Boulevards beers but this was terrible. After reading other reviews, I am wondering if I had a bad bottle. All I know it it was like drinking vinager.

Pours a golden amber color w/ quick dissipating head. Aromas of vinegar, light fruit, and some barnyard. Tastes like lightly fruity easter egg dye with some horseblanket. Outstanding sour and tart!

Bottle.
Appearance: Murky amber brown body with a creamy tan head.
Aroma: Passionfruit, papaya, whiskey, and chardonnay. Light oak with prominent tart cherry.
Taste: Moderate to high tart. Papaya and strawberry are prominent, whiskey is subdued. Finding some peach and orange as well. Boozy leaning finish.
Palate: Medium bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: Damn good beer, very complex and done well.

Bottle. It poured an amber color with a white head. The aroma was sour and acidic with a touch of grapes. The taste was similar to the aroma with citrus, oranges, apples, funk and some wood. Very nice.

A big thanks to Matt for this this brew! Dude, that one was fantastic!
