Bottle from D&J Liquor of St. Louis, MO. Dark amber color with a decent beige head that went down fast. Smells a bit like old style linoleum paste. Medium body with very mild carbonation. The instant impression is restrained banana, with some dark grainy malt sweetness. It has a decent amount of citrus like bitter. Finishes like it ought. For me it’s refreshing. Bottle poured a hazy amber with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness and brown sugar. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, light earthiness and a hint of brown sugar with a smooth malty finish. djd07 (14508) - Houston, Texas, USA - AUG 1, 2008
Bottle. Pours a dark brown amber color with a small white head that diminishes rather quickly. The aroma is a strong clove, banana and malt. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is a faint clove with a dry spicy finish. A decent dunkel from Boulevard. Tmoney99 (14480) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 14, 2007
Bottle shared with shigadeyo. Poured a chazy copper color with an average off-white fizzy head that was mostly lasting and produced fair lacing. Good banana and spice aroma. Light to medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Good sweet flavor with an average sweet finish of short duration. Soft drinkable brew. Bottle from Lithy, thanks! Orange brown color, hazy. Malt and a hint of nutmeg in the aroma. Malty sweetish flavor with pear and nutmeg. Not unpleasant, but not outstanding. BeerandBlues2 (13321) - Escondido, California, USA - MAR 29, 2009
Bottle. Pours clear brown with an average, fizzy, light brown head, mostly diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (caramel, cookie), light hops (herbs), heavy yeast (dough, earth, broth) with notes of cloves, banana, and wheat. Medium bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a chalky finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - MAR 2, 2009
(12oz bottle, courtesy of mar) Pours a clear amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of nuts, toffee, roasted malt, and toasted grain. Flavor of hops (grass), nuts, roasted malt, light cocoa, caramel, and toasted grain. Dogbrick (13010) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - AUG 30, 2007
On draught at Kauffman Stadium in KC, served in a plastic cup. Pours a darkish-brown color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes to a compact layer that stays. Lacing spotty but again it was a plastic cup. Aroma of toasted malt, wheat and caramel. Medium-bodied with a somewhat banal flavor profile of roasted malt, banana and caramel. Not much bitterness. The finish is sweet spices and more malt. A lot better than most beers you can find at a ball park, but overall pretty average. jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JUN 8, 2008
