COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nutcracker Ale is Boulevard’s special offering for the holiday season. This hearty, warming brew is a classic winter ale, deep amber in color, with hints of molasses balanced by the "spiciness" of freshly harvested "wet" Chinook hops.

Pours redish brown and slightly opaque. Aroma is spicy and malty. Flavor is of cinnamon, brown sugar, nutmeg, peraps ginger. The body is fine, but, IMO, not enough hops to balance it. Lingering alcohol in the finish.

pretty good brew. I’m not a fan of spices, so that held this one back a bit.

Pours a dirty brown. Aroma of Christmas spices. Tastes of pie crust, cookies, gingerbread with a crisp hop bite in the finish.

Wow. I’m usually not a fan of these kinds of ales (Cascade hops). But I really like this one. The only reason I git it was b/c I hd tried their Bully! Porter and loved it. Is seasonal, so you can only get it in the winter. Nice hoppiness and spicyness. The hop heads will love this. Nice in a cold winter’s night.

Muddy brown pour produced little head. Nice malty aroma with a very hoppy initial flavor. Extended finish leaves a creamy bready flavor behind. Not a wonderful beer, but good on occasion

Bottled. Best before 2/1/7. Beer is cloudy, medium-brown. Head is initially average, off-white, frothy. Diminishing.
Aroma is lightly malty with notes of toasted grain and bread crust, trace flickering hints of coffee and molasses; Hoppy with a heavy note of resin/pine, light herbal note; Yeasty with a light note of basement.
The flavor is moderately-to-heavily bittersweet, lightly acidic with a long, moderately bittersweet finish. Rubbing alcohol in the finish and retros
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2012 Bottle (BB Jul/2012). Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white to light brown, mostly lasting. Body is hazy dark amber-brown, unfiltered. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted bread), moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit), lightly yeasty (dough), with a light note of dried mango. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Hoppy brown ale or a dark amber ale? Very watery. Not very interesting or wintery, but ok.
