Doesn't live up to the quality of some other boulevard brews. Didn't get the molasses. I did taste some sweetness that I atribute to apricot or pear, maybe. I'll admit I'm a hard sell on some of the seasonal ales! Sham (1844) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 23, 2003
Nice ruby hued pour with a small white head and lace. Some malt in the aroma. Mostly contains hops and a bit of spiciness. Earthy flavor, slightly woody, malts and hops. Medium body and a smooth cleansing palate that finishes with some bittering hops. Not too shabby. Thanks goes out to Acrodizer on this one. Beautiful dark copper/brown color. Nice head. Flavor was hoppy, slightly piney, and sweet. Classic beery aroma. Pretty good, but nothing really to set it apart from the other holiday ales I have tried. Mangino (1027) - Mississippi, USA - NOV 27, 2004
Pours a murky red/brown, small white head. Aroma is malty, with a kick or hops. Flavor is spicy, malt, brown sugar, astringent palate. A nice brew. Thanks to Heemer. footbalm (1219) - Western Minneapolis Suburbs, Minnesota, USA - FEB 15, 2005

Flavor is a little thin but the spices and some dark syrup.A nice session brew. Thanks to csbosox for this.
Hazy reddish brown color, like cider, with a thin off white to light tan head. The aroma was spiced apples, cherries, some wheat and sour grapes. Moslty wheaty in the taste with a bit of honey, some apples and a bitter wheaty finish. Not much in the way of a mouth feel, but almost watery though. Not outstanding but not horrible. mybrainhurts (400) - North Dakota, USA - FEB 19, 2006
Muddy water brown pour with a foamy yet soft white head. Aroma of fruity, floral hops and pine. Not much depth in the aroma. Flavors of citrus and grapefruit, perhaps a touch of toffee. Watery mouthfeel and bitter finish. I was hoping for more complexity with this offering but It seem rather one dimensional. As it warms a kiss of caramel emerges but it’s too late to really add anything. Overall, just ok. timtheenchanta (70) - Clemson, South Carolina, USA - JUN 4, 2006
Hazy light brown liquid with a medium head that dissipates quickly. smhncabot (310) - Cabot, Arkansas, USA - MAR 10, 2007
Good spicy hop balanced caramel malt nose.
Very sweet malt taste. Not much spice to my surprise. Slight alcohol taste to it. Slight hop taste to it. A medium bitterness in the palate with slight caramel malt.
UPDATED: MAR 11, 2007 aroma is spicy fruity with some grapefruit. taste much the same with nutmeg and ginger, sweet malt, and a hint of grapefruit. doesnt hide alc in finish wxman (1853) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - NOV 11, 2007
Pours a ruby amber color with a nice full off white head that diminishes yet stays. Aroma is nutmeg and hop flowers. Taste is nutmeg, cinnamon, maple syrup, and roasted malt. A fine holiday season beer!
