COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Situated at opposite ends of the California Trail, pioneering breweries Sierra Nevada and Boulevard have embarked upon a journey into the unknown, to a land where adventures in brewing and flavor await. Terra Incognita is, fittingly, an earthy beer, celebrating the unique terroir of the two locations. Beginning with Sierra Nevada’s estate-grown pale malt, and combined with amber malt, wheat, and malted wheat, it is then assertively hopped with Bravo and Styrian Goldings, dry-hopped with East Kent Goldings, and finally barrel aged with Brettanomyces in Missouri oak.
Originally brewed at Boulevard and released exclusively on draft at SAVOR Fest 2012. Batch 2 was brewed at Boulevard and re-released to the general public in bottles on 6-18-13.

Love this style. Brown amber type of sour barn peach plum funk. Lightly carbonated, very vinous just a great wonderful flavored brew. Hop they make more collab stuff of the two breweries.

Bottle, caged and corked. Poured big and poofy, with a giant head. This hints at a monster from the get-go, and I think the promise delivers. Teh nose is outstandingly wild, full of wild funk. The beer drinks with a big, funky funk of whiskey malt, yeast and wood. Wow, this is delicious, complex stuff, and I love it!! (#5295, 10/18/2013)

Poured from the bottle. Aroma is typical of a sour, very bright and fruity. Flavour is much more earthy as they claim. More spices and the oak comes through with the bourbon. Not much sour flavour like you would expect due to the aging, but the bourbon is not over powering either. Very nice beer!
