Batch 2 bottle. Poured into a goblet. Surprisingly light brown pour with a huge head. Lots of carbonation on this one. Worried about possible infection here. Slightly lactic all around. But lots of vanilla, creamy coffee, light chocolate. Sweet but dry. Won’t be surprised to see reports of these gushing given a little more time on the shelf. brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Mahogany pour with a huge off-white head. Banana, toast, and sweet malt. Notes of coffee and chocolate, mild earthiness, and a hint of roast. Nice malty sweetness, banana, toast, and a touch of chocolate. Quite mild coffee, a hint of vanilla, and a touch of roast. ajnepple (7337) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - MAY 2, 2013
On tap at The Mayor of Old Town. Brown color and clear with a strong coffee aroma and flavor. Very smooth flavor with a nice roast and light cocoa. Light to medium body with a smooth soft feel. Pretty damn tasty. Jerm719 (195) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAY 2, 2013
Good amount of head. Nice nutty coffee aromas. Good choice of hops. Very nice finish not too sweet or dry. Well done. Happy to see a good coffee ale instead of the usual porter or stout! Ernest (7886) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 1, 2013
Head is initially large, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting.
Body is cloudy dark amber, unfiltered.
Aroma is moderately to heavily malty (coffee, Oreo cookie), with a light note of strawberry.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium to full body, fluffy/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Very solid brew...especially wrt the mouth experience: excellent balance and a nice fluffy mouthfeel. And where the heck is the alcohol? Over 9%??? Seriously, r u jokin or wat? 9% is like 6% to Boulevard, fine sum1 else to measure your ABV. The aroma doesn’t quite rise above "pleasant", but it is very much that...nice coffee character, especially.

Tastes like iced coffee. Good thing. Love it. Draft at smoke daddy. Clear brown pour with white head. Good stuff. Never had one like it kcorum10 (349) - Idaho, USA - APR 26, 2013
This beer is AMAZING! Aroma of some strong roasted coffee that is very present. Pours a thick brown body with a very carbonated, bubbly head. Tastes like an amazing well balanced beer that leaves the palate with a mild creamy mouthfull of roasted coffee brew that is second to nothing. mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - APR 26, 2013
Murky brown color after a frothy pour. Really nice coffee notes in aroma, carrying to the flavor. Interestingly sweet, and a nice malt base. Coffee flavor is quite fresh and lingers beautifully. This is good, but unfortunately does not hide its ABV well, and indeed what also lingers is a bit of alcohol burn. If they ratcheted this from from 9.3 to 7.5 or so, this would be a coffee ale to beat!

Draft at The Bridge. Pours brown with an inch of khaki foam that leaves no lacing. Massive coffee notes on the nose but it smells less like coffee grounds and more like brewed. It’s a pleasant scent that really lingers. Behind that it’s fucking delicious! You definitely get the coffee but is also nicely hopped which gives it a fragrant, complex flavor. Finishes clean. I’ve never had Boulevard beer that disapointed. They may be the most underrated brewery in the country. kidmartinek (5007) - austin, Texas, USA - APR 22, 2013
Looks like an amber beer. The head settles to an off white ring quickly. The nose is staunch coffee. It tastes like an iced coffee. Too much like coffee amd not enough like beer. Pouring shine in your coffee would render the same effect.
