Barley, wheat, rye and oats provide the foundation for this big stout. Layers of complex flavors slowly emerge from the glass: espresso, roasted fig, creme brulee. Belgian yeast provides a plum-like fruitiness, noble German hops reveal spicy, herbal notes, while the rich, velvety mouthfeel mellows to a dry, smoky finish. Such a robust beer stands well by itself, but also makes a wonderful end-note to any rich, indulgent meal. Discover the secret of combining this roasty ale to sweets, by pairing with dark chocolate or caramel, or even by pouring it over ice cream.

A solid stout for the price. Roasted malt, roasted coffee beans, bitter chocolate and integrated dried figs aromas and flavors. Above average mouthfeel, with a respectable lingering finish of roasted coffee beans, dark, bitter chocolate and dark, dried fruit... Yum... A good stout... Not the best.. Though still very good... No complaints. --- tasted while on a long journey to understand the world around me...

Black pour with creamy tan head. Nose is very smokey, roasted malts, coffee.Body is rich and creamy, smokey, and sweet. Bittersweet finish. Very well crafted but a tad on the sweet side. Definitely would work well as a dessert.

This is a beast. Pours a lovely black with brown head sticking to the glass. It smells of faint hops with serious malts. The taste is equally delicious, with a slight taste of belgian yeast. Mostly some amazing stout qualities. One of the best.

Boulevard has scored big with this stout. A deep, rich aroma with hints of coffee and nuts. A bitter finish with an after bite.

Bottle poured black with a brown head and good lacing. Aromas are of smokey fig, toasted malts and sweet dark fruits, subtle undertones of hops, coffee and chocolate. Flavors of biter sweet dark fruit, dry malty undertones with hops tagging along. The finish is a dry bitterness, with fruity notes. Awsome beer, it is reminiscent to Serpent Stout by Lost Abbey.

If you’re looking for a stout you can not go wrong with this beer. Perfect smokey taste.

Bottle from 16 Tons Cafe, Eugene. Pours black, with a slight tan head, no lacing. Yeast prominent in aroma, dried fruits (figs?) are there as well, so too is just a hint of smoke. Full-bodied, with a big, complex finish. Roasted malt character strong in finish, with just the barest trace of herbs. Really liked this one.

Bottle from TWM Fredericksburg - reviewing from notes - pours a deep mahogany with a white head, aroma is roasty and dark, nice!

Aroma was very noticeable as soon as I popped the top. Was even stronger during por. Taste was a bit heavy on the smoke. Still undecided on this one. I might have to rate this one again later.
