Pretty nice beer! brewskis (123) - Saint John, Indiana, USA - OCT 27, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 1, 2013 Pours dark as night with a two and a half finger dark, creamy mocha colored head. The head is surprising for the style and alcohol content. Leaves some thick lacing. Smells of dark chocolate, espresso, roasted malts, some peat, fig, plum, some spiciness from the belgian yeast and hops, molasses. Tastes very much like it smells. At the start you get an intense roastiness. Roasted chocolate, espresso, some peat and ash characters. Then in the middle you get a lot more sweet qualities. Get the dark fruits like sweet plum and fig, as well as some milk chocolate and molasses. The finish is more roasted flavors, some tobacco, plum, some tart qualities, a lot more peat, stays sweet too. Perhaps a tiny bit of alcohol on the finish, but goes well with the intense roasted qualities. Creamy and sticky mouthfeel throughout. Pretty full body. Gets more complex as it warms. This is a terrific, complex imperial stout. oRos (1675) - sacramento, California, USA - OCT 25, 2012
12oz bottle. Color is black with tan head. Aroma is sweet and some coffee. Taste is molasses and roasted malt middle tongue is coffee with a Smokey finish. dfhhead25 (251) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 15, 2012
Aroma- molasses, rum-soaked raisins, oak, slight roasted notes
Appearance- pitch black with an off-white head
Taste- booze hits upfront followed by some oak, astringency, roasted notes, dark chocolate, and some more alcohol
Palate- heavy but not quite on par with the flavors
Overall- A hot mess mostly. Some redeeming qualities but not near enough to uplift this brew. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - OCT 14, 2012
Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a moderate tan head to it. Little smell, though I get some slight roasted notes to it. Dark roasted and malty notes to the taste. Not bad, but not my favorite in the style.

No aroma whatsoever. Strange. Solid black with a thick tan head. Lots of lacing. Starts off with coffee and a little molasses. Slightly bitter. Not bad. TURDFERGUSON (4058) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - OCT 9, 2012
