COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barley, wheat, rye and oats provide the foundation for this big stout. Layers of complex flavors slowly emerge from the glass: espresso, roasted fig, creme brulee. Belgian yeast provides a plum-like fruitiness, noble German hops reveal spicy, herbal notes, while the rich, velvety mouthfeel mellows to a dry, smoky finish. Such a robust beer stands well by itself, but also makes a wonderful end-note to any rich, indulgent meal. Discover the secret of combining this roasty ale to sweets, by pairing with dark chocolate or caramel, or even by pouring it over ice cream.

Pours dark black with tan head. Aroma of malt, Belgian yeast, candied sugar, and alcohol. Flavor of big malty stout with dried fruit, and Belgian yeast. Didn't know this had Belgian yeast when I got it but it is an interesting flavor that brings out the fruitiness of the malt. Well balanced and enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark black pour. Thin brown head. Aroma is a little bit roasted, some coffee but not much. Chocolate. Flavor is more chocolate with lots of cooked malts. Not too much alcohol comes through. Smooth.

UPDATED: JUN 1, 2016 Pours Black, clear color, with very stable creamy light brown, beige long lasting head. Aroma; intense aroma of dark malts, which takes on espresso coffee, milk chocolate, salty licorice, supported with hop aroma, which takes on dark fruits, plums, prunes and supported with slight spiciness. Similar are flavors: intense roasted malt flavors, with notes of coffee, milk chocolate, salty licorice, with hint of mint, very well balanced with hop flavors, which takes on plums, prunes...Finish is slightly sticky, dry and roasted bitter. Body is moderate fulle, texture is very smooth (oat of course!), carbonation is medium. Strange mix of belgian yeasts and english malts, but it works! Very good belgian style imperial stout!

A carmel head when poured leads to a smokey, roasted taste with a smooth finish.
