COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barley, wheat, rye and oats provide the foundation for this big stout. Layers of complex flavors slowly emerge from the glass: espresso, roasted fig, creme brulee. Belgian yeast provides a plum-like fruitiness, noble German hops reveal spicy, herbal notes, while the rich, velvety mouthfeel mellows to a dry, smoky finish. Such a robust beer stands well by itself, but also makes a wonderful end-note to any rich, indulgent meal. Discover the secret of combining this roasty ale to sweets, by pairing with dark chocolate or caramel, or even by pouring it over ice cream.

this beer pours black with a light brown large head. This beer tastes of sour dark fruits, sour raisens, dark malts and lots of spices, the alcohol taste is over bearing and it has a bitter after taste. Not my favorite

dark brown colour, moderate sized creamy darker beige head, which lasts for several minutes; aroma of sour cherry bonbon with cognac and dark chocolate, coffee, some herbal liqueur notes, maybe vanilla and dried plum; taste of a liquidized sour cherry bonbon mixed with moderately roasted coffee, dried fruits like plum and dates, hints of cognac, and vanilla, and tons of dark chocolate; very smooth, marvellous imperial stout

Bottle. Opaque Black in colour. Thick foamy tan head. Very Malty; dark chocolate, espresso coffee, caramel, sugar, roasty (slightly burnt) malts, some liquorice, hint of smoke. Very Fruity; dark fruits, raisins, plums, dates, figs. Spicy; slightly peppery. Hoppy; spicy and herbal hops. Sweet dark chocolate and coffee roasty malty and fruity throughout. Chocolate and coffee dominate the taste. Increasingly bitter into the long roasty finish. Enjoyed this a lot. Nice Chocolatey Impy Stout! (2014-06-09)

Bottle pour into shaker pint glass. Aroma is dark fruits, roasted malts, a little bit of chocolate, vanilla, alcohol. Appearance is opaque black with 2-finger width creamy head with excellent retention and nice sudsy lacing. Taste is dark fruit, roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, late coffee. Palate is medium bodied with smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation and balance of sweet and bitter finish. Overall, this is great all around. Sweet, to be sure, but with enough roasted bitterness to balance it out and the mouthfeel and look are fantastic.

Black pour, fairly large tan head with good lace/retention. Aroma is Belgian yeast, chocolate, licorice, chalk, anise, darker fruit, spicy hops. Medium to full body, moderate to high alcohol, soy, licorice, chocolate, darker fruit flavor with Belgian yeast. Interesting take on an Imperial Stout from the US.

From the 12 FL oz bottle acquired on a trip to Texas. Black as night heady pour. Lacing. The aroma brings out a dark malt sweetness as well as a notable boozy character. The body is full. The taste is nicely dark and roasty but like the nose the booze lingers. But it is still quite excellent.
