COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barley, wheat, rye and oats provide the foundation for this big stout. Layers of complex flavors slowly emerge from the glass: espresso, roasted fig, creme brulee. Belgian yeast provides a plum-like fruitiness, noble German hops reveal spicy, herbal notes, while the rich, velvety mouthfeel mellows to a dry, smoky finish. Such a robust beer stands well by itself, but also makes a wonderful end-note to any rich, indulgent meal. Discover the secret of combining this roasty ale to sweets, by pairing with dark chocolate or caramel, or even by pouring it over ice cream.

crossovert (13741) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 5, 2014
355ml bottle. Dark puor with a massive tan head. The head is beautiful and by reading the label i can see that belgian yeast is the culprit. The smell is pretty stnadard for an imperial stout: cocoa, roasted malt, coffee, sweetness, dark fruit, really nice. Falvor is dark cocoa, belgian yeast character, hint of soy but a cripser imperial stout abv considering.

Bottle thankfully shared by a friend, as I dropped mine on the garage floor a few months back. The beer pours black with a medium dark brown head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Roasty malt, coffee and dark fruits in the nose. Full-bodied with a roasty character of malt and coffee, along with notes of chocolate and a touch of spice. The finish is chocolatey malt with an espresso aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
