Bottle: Pour is dark cola brown with a huge tan head.
Aroma is citrusy hop and chocolate malt. piney resin and rye spice under that.
Flavour is medium roasted malt, piney hop presence and lingering rye spice finish.
750 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 7.7%. Dark reddish brown colour, huge beige head. Lovely malty aroma, mild roasty notes, hints of dark berries, also fruity and piney hops. Treated as an imperial version, this was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a black color with a good finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Moderate stringy to speckled lace.
The aroma takes in some sweet barley/oatiness rubbing against some spicy rye. Sly blueberries dive in underneath. Roasty coffee beans and some roasted cocoa beans.
The flavor blends the sweetness of the barley to the oatiness and brings the spiciness of the rye to glide in for a really nice balance. Cocoa and coffee portions are there but fairly low. Moderate semi-sweet to roasty balance in the aftertaste leading on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a good sipping quality about it. Moderate carbonation feels good on my tongue.

Malty, hoppy nose with coffee, roasted malt, liquorice, grapefruit, caramel, pine needles, hints of mint and blueberries. Malty, roasted, hoppy taste with notes of coffee, chocolate, blueberries, pine needles, mint, grapefruit, dark bread and a generous piney bitterness in the finish. 4oz draft. Deep brown with small lite tan head. Roasted malt, grains, with interesting interplay of pine and citrus rind. Quite good.

With Z , pours a deep black color with a nice beige head. Nose is pine and resin and hops. Taste is piney with resinous notes and a nice hoppy taste.
