Golden color with a medium white head and nice lacing. Aroma of apples and pears. Flavor has lots of malt, nicely bitter throughout. Decent body. Unusual for the style, but tasty enough. Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 25, 2013
Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of byager. Pours a clear golden with a dense white head. Refined spicy nose, a little perfumy with a sophisticated barrel character. Rich body, strangely overcarbonated which doesn’t really suit a barley Wine. Overripe fruit, subtle and sophisticated barrel notes with some great aroma hops. Ends a little bitter. Nice one. 250113 mcberko (18082) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 7, 2011
750mL bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours a hazy orange amber with a medium white head. Aroma is quite vinous (white wine), with wheat, honey, some oak / wood, various light fruits and considerable hoppiness. Flavour brings out the wheat and white wine qualities on top, a little oak, with lots of hops that come in later and linger. Light mouthfeel with average complexity. A little underwhelming, but solid. TBone (17699) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 2, 2011
Bottled 750ml (BB 01/2009)
Deep golden color, small white head, some lace. Fruity, a bit woody aroma. Medium-bodied. Fruity (mango, apple) with some alcohol, wood and light hoppyness. A bit glueish. Tasting more like a strong Belgian ale than a barley wine.
