Saison-Brett, based on our very popular Tank 7, is assertively dry hopped, then bottle conditioned with various yeasts, including Brettanomyces, a wild strain that imparts a distinctive earthy quality. Though this farmhouse ale was given three months of bottle age prior to release, further cellaring will continue to enhance the “Brett” character, if that’s what you’re after.

Tiny pour from a bottle at a tasting. Consumed on 9-23-17. Pours a hazy brass to bronze with a small amount of beige head. Fresh, Bretty aroma. Smells good. Sweet and Bretty taste. Sweeter than I prefer for a saison but enjoyable. Smooth and frothy in the palate. Medium body.>3.5

Where and how: mini tasting – b. 750 ml
Aroma fragrant, aromatic, soft of side with mild funk abound. Zesty, hinted with barnyard at finish.
Appearance :
Top: gushing top, ornamental lace with rings.
Base: fine haze on gold
Palate : medium bodied, average carbonation, semi dry. Longer end.
Taste:Belgian yeast, gentle soft dryness, notes of dry hop, sweet sugary back with gentle Brett funk. Complex, multi layered profile. Only minus, tad too sweet on walls.

Very good saison. Traditional farmhouse with some punch. Not so tangy but the brett come thru strong. Dry with a sweet palate. Medium body and mouth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft @ Boulevard - Pours hazy yellow, white head, lacing on the glass. Big tropical fruits, bubblegum, funk, dryness, banana, clove, pepper, very nice!

750 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a murky golden peach colour with large, lasting white head. Aroma is bright stone fruit, spice, herbs, earthiness and some yeasty funk. Flavour has tart lemon, peach, crabapple, pepper, Brett funk, herbs and earthiness. Fine, lively carbonation. Quite nice.

From a bottle poured an amber color with way too much head. Funky malty flavor with a lingering aftertaste.

Bottle from LCBO. Pours an opaque golden colour with two fingers of white head that reduces into a lasting film. Aromas of apples, citrus, green grapes, and a hint of banana. Complex taste matches the aroma with notes of earthy hops and a pronounced banana note on the finish. Lively carbonation. Excellent farmhouse ale. The best farmhouse ale I had so far.

750ml corked and caged from the lcbo. Opaque orange pour, with a large white head. Loads of brett in the aroma. Very fruity, oranges and stone fruit, light yeast, soft herbs and some tropical notes. Good mouth feel, soft carb. Finish is medium bitter, subtly sweet, bretty finish, more stone fruit, soft spice and cereals.

Super.

Pours almost clear golden, big frothy white head. A somehow weird, mineral salty aroma, intense bretts and bitter herbs. Taste is bitter and herbal, but intense. Yeasty, earthy, spicy, crispy. Post taste is bitter and full of fresh hay. Great!
