Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of SecretSanta himself. Pours amber with a slight haze and a creamy off-white head. Exotic cedar aroma. Solid body, sweet roasted malts and a vague fruity touch. Bottle thanks to a generous trader. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose/taste of toffee, dark fruit, banana and sweet malt. Taste has a light hint of cigar box. Medium body. brokensail (16609) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 13, 2011
A: The beer pours a dark amber color with a tall off-white head.
S: Sweet toffee, caramel, miscellaneous dark fruits, and just some mild brown sugar give this one a fairly traditional doppelbock aroma. However, the cedar wood comes through shortly after, as does a bit of booze.
T: The wood seems to be even more pronounced on the palate and gives a weird spiciness. There is a nice caramel and toffee sweetness with some mild bread and fruit notes. A touch of booze and maybe even some vanilla.
M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
O: A little boozy and the cedar threw me off a bit. Dedollewaitor (16237) - Odense, DENMARK - MAR 22, 2010
Bottle @ Copenhaniacs tasting, Pt.1. Pours deep and unclear orange with a creamy white head. Nose is sweet malty. Fruit, caramel, perfume and yeast. Ashy flavor with notes of vegetables and alcohol. bhensonb (15500) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 8, 2010
Bottle from ericandersnavy. Hazy blood orange pour with a four finger creamy beige head. Aroma of medium roast malt and something citrusy. Full bodied with foamy carbonation. Flavor is sweetish roast caramel, a little dusty, but there is enough hoppiness to cut the sweet a bit. Not heavy and thick. Really quite quaffable. Every drink is a joy.
