COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment thats just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard its fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

The beer looks nice. The color of the beer is nice yellow, with a gratis pale tint; straw coloured is a better name. It also has a nice cloudiness. On top of the beer an nice layer of foam forms, which is quite rough and sturdy. It has quite a good retention. The smell of the beer is lovely. It is American IPA and saison together. I smell lovely hoppy aromas, like citrus fruits, grass and nice resinous touch. There is also a more spicy touch. The smell is in perfect balance. It has a nice refreshing touch. The taste is even better. Nice hops, good bitters and sweets and both are in nice balance. There is a nice extra sweet touch to it, and nice floral hoppiness and some hoppy fruits. Nice and fresh. There is also a nice yeasty touch, giving that real Belgian saison touch. There is also a smokey hint. Nice and complex. Good job.

Pours light hazy yellow/orange with a big frothy white head that leaves lacing. Fruity nose. The aroma contains hops, malts, yeast, citrus and straw. It tastes medium sweet and medium bitter, with a long bitter, fruity and yeasty finish. Creamy texture, refreshing, average carbonation. Very well balanced Saison.

Bottle. Hazy orange color with eggshell head and yeast trails. Aroma is peppery yeast, orange rind, dough, earthy-rustic. Taste is dough, earthy, orange rind, dry peppery finish with only a touch of booze. Silky mouthfeel, medium carbonation. It has the right rusticness and quaffability to it, despite the 8.5 ABV. Very very good.
