COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

Nice big American saison. Pale malt, spicy, orange rind, yeast. Amarillo hops shine through.. Maybe too much. Pretty big bodied for a saison. Saison crossed with dbl ipa style. Still good though!

On tap at Smokehouse BBQ (the best BBQ in Kansas City). The aroma reminds me of an IPA, very hoppy. Medium gold-yellow body with a thick white head. Taste is much milder than an IPA. Hoppy yet slightly sweet with a subtle juniper finish. Enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Bottle) Golden colour, slightly hazy, with lasting frothy white head. Fruity, malty nose with peaches, bread, grass, spicy yeast, hay, lemon peel and grapefruit. Malty, fruity taste with notes of bread, grass, peaches, honey, citrus, spicy yeast and a finish with a generous dose of grapefruit bitterness. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Very well constructed, with a balanced spiciness from the yeast and a fresh citric bitterness coming through in the finish. Excellent saison.

Bottle. Best by 3/8/14. Poured 4/25/14. Light straw color with an incredibly thick, dense, fluffy white head. Aroma is citrus, grass, spicy, lightly fruity, yeast, hint of toffee, some bubblegum, floral. Taste is nice; mild hop characteristics; floral, fruity, earthy, spicy, grass, some caramel and toffee; finish is lightly bitter fruit peel, caramel, citrus. White laces throughout; thick. Mouth feel is light to medium bodied. Carbonation, medium-low. Interesting. Nice American style saison. I support the decision to try a non-Belgian yeast strain.

Bottled. Slightly hazy, golden beer with big lacy head. Aroma is intense and full of fruits and berries. Tight grapefruit notes, grapes, elderberries, ripe apricots, spiciness close to black pepper. Slightly bland flavor, medium sweet pils-malty at first, grains and a touch of alcoholic sweetness in the finish. Medium body, soft texture, yeasty finish.

One of the better examples of the style. Pours a very nice straw-yellow color, with funky notes and some grass. On the palate there is a nice citrus flavor but barnyard funk backs it up. Some chewiness to this as well.

Aromas of yeast, fruit, light wood and light citrus, light lemon, light malty, light sweet Flavours of yeast, pepper, cream, fruit, some flowers, peach, apricot, light alcohol touch, light spicy, some herbs and cream. Aftertaste is a mix of yeast, malts, cream, light dry, herbs and hay. Low carbo, creamy blown mouthfeel, medium to lightly fuller bodied and a creamy spicy light dry texture. Very nice beer!
