Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment thats just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard its fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.

The fruity flavors dont overpower my favorite trait of subtle bitterness. My wife hates beer but requests that I buy this for her. Normally I would assume that means that its overly sweet but not in the least

Pours a hazy golden with lots of carbonation and head. Bready, citrus, and slight funky yeast smells. Fruity citrus flavors such as tangerine. Spicy belgian yeast notes as well. Carbonation is abundant and refreshing. Great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This beer is refreshing and goes down smooth. After reading the description I was amazed that it was made in a broken down rusty tank. Im really looking forward to trying the beers they made in the six tanks that are working properly. Extra points for 8.5% Minus 0.3 points for charging full price despite using a broken tank.

12 ounce bottle purchased a bit over a year ago at Holiday Wine Cellar ($2.99). Pours a hazy golden/straw color. The three fingers of white fizzy head reduces to a pillowy layer with excellent retention. AROMA of musty citrus, honey and bready malts, some dry spice, and floral hops. FLAVOR of lightly sweet citrus (tangerine), spicy hops, dry spice, somewhat Belgian yeast, and bready malts. Prickly carbonation enhances the flavor. Despite the aging, the hops still make themselves known with some bitterness toward the finish. The high-for-a-saison ABV is well hidden here. Have had on draft a few times, but prefer this aged bottle version. A very bright, complex, and tasty saison. (993, 836)
