COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’re always looking for new, playful ways to approach the art of brewing, and with that in mind we invited Christopher Elbow back to the brewery to reimagine our very popular Chocolate Ale. This exciting new version adds the bright flavors and aromas of raspberry, for a fresh take on an old favorite.

750ml bottle. Poured a deeper hazy amberish color with an off white head. Raspberries, chocolate, chocolate covered raspberries, and some fruitiness.

Bottle at bottle share. Ugly light Brown. Smells like raspberry and chocolate. Tastes lightly tart with raspberry and chocolate. Really not bad- I was afraid.

Also yellow amber in color. WAY more raspberry on the nose that flavor. Jammy. Drinks easy through it’s a high abv dessert beer. Chocolate only comes out as light tootsie roll on the finish. Sweet, but not overly so.

Amber/rosé kleurig bier met witte schuimkraag. Geur: zoet, frambozen confituur. Smaak: melkchocolade met frambozenvulling, een aardse toets. Goede koolzuurprikkel. Een lekker fruitbier met een twist.

UPDATED: OCT 10, 2016 750 ml bottle poured into a tulip. Best by September 2016. Murky brownish amber with two fingers of beige head. Aromas of big raspberries, light cocoa. Tastes of rasperry, cocoa, a bit medicinal. Medium-light body with a dry finish. I enjoy their regular Chocolate Ale but this one didn’t quite mesh well on the taste for me.

bomber @ Whitey’s / Lawrenceburg IN --- best by 09/2016 --- Aroma of malt and raspberry. Hazy amber brown color, off-white head that settles to a thick cover, short strings of lace. Taste is malt with a little milk chocolate and light raspberry jelly, almost artificial in taste. It all moves through mild carbonation to a finish that introduces no-doubt-about-it alcohol followed by chocolate that turns semi-sweet, keeping a balance in the end. All the stuff is there, but it just doesn’t work well for me. Maybe more natural chocolate and berry, maybe more clear malt to start, I can’t put my finger on it - but it isn’t a re-do for me.

750ml c&c bottle shared by Jesse. Poured a slightly maroonish amber with a large foamy light beige head. Aroma is sweet raspberries, sweet sugary chocolate, dusty grains. Flavor is over the top with sweetness from the chocolate and the raspberry. Medium body at best and fizzy carbonation. Meh....

Leuven Innovation Beer Fesitval 2016 - This beer is fantastic and I may even prefer it to the original. A great dessert beer. Raspberry is potent and accentuates the candy character of the experience.
