3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a nearly opaque dark brown with an ever-so-thin dark tan head that quickly disappears. Nevertheless, a very appealing beer in the glass. Aroma of stone fruits with a very alcohol forward profile resembling cognac or brandy. Taste similarly follows suit with a strong alcohol profile, followed by an oaked, almost tobacco-like smoke flavor. Roasted malts emerge as the beer warms, but the alcohol and smoke remain in the forefront. Mouthfeel is thick, almost chewy, but with a prickly carbonation. A fine example of an imperial stout.
UPDATED: FEB 21, 2018 liquid bronie color, nice tan head, mild choclate coffee aroma, slighly bitter, backround spice notes, a little sweeter than most stouts, but overall nice complex flavor. bpreo (3043) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - FEB 12, 2018
A splendid beer. Why can't they all be like this? (What I mean is, why can't a PBR or Milwaukee's Best taste this good, this strong, and this cheap?). kajser27 (2138) - Zagreb, CROATIA - FEB 8, 2018

somehow, I have never had this; 12 oz bottle to glass. nice aroma - brownie, coffee, roast. dark pour. nice taste - it wasn't overly roasted or bitter - the dark fruits or Belgian qualities smoothed this out some - will have again; enjoyed. rami_pl (4998) - Warszawa, POLAND - JAN 25, 2018

Pours thick black with slight head. Aroma is brown sugar, chocolate and a hint of roast. Taste is dried fruit, molasses and chocolate. Finish is typical Belgian yeast strain. An interesting stout, put together in a manner that keeps you off your toes. dfearnley (2411) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 12, 2018
The truth is, it's 3:30 am, I'm trying to work, but I'm not that motivated. I just need to get over this hump and I think a nice cold beer will do it. The beer is dark with a 1.5 cm frothy and undulating head, which has some staying power. This head is protecting the beer from spreading it's aroma, so it's tough to get a full aromatic profile. I give it some time and take to sniffing the empty bottle. From it, I get lots of soy and light caramel. The beer itself gives off chocolate, coffee, and some light grains. Taste is smoky malts, dark chocolate, some sourness, brown sugar, coffee and through the head...strong bitterness. Perhaps the sourness was a bit off putting, but overall and solid imperial stout. raphael (1311) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 10, 2018
Dark khaki head on dark dark bottom, i smell molasses, red wine, alcohol and milk chocolate—quite a nosefull. Resiny hop flavor with underlying molasses, alcohol and almost lemon. Lighter on the palate than most stouts, but is that a bad thing. My tongue feels stung. Very active finish.

Carob, a bit of dark chocolate, dried fruit, and flowers make for a cool combo of flavors. Medium, smooth, juice-like bod. Pershing (605) - Garland, Texas, USA - DEC 31, 2017
Black pour into a stemmed chalice with a tan long lasting head. Roasted barley aroma with some burnt notes. Medium body with some hop bitterness to offset the heavy malts used. Dry filling finish..
