COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Featuring a malt bill composed of 20% rye malt accented with amber and caramel malts, Tasting Room – Spicy Rye Ale marries the spicy fruitiness of malted rye, juicy hops and a subtle touch of heat contributed by crushed pink peppercorns added at the end of the boil. Azacca, Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic and Amarillo hops lead in the aroma suggesting notes of grapefruit, white grape and pineapple. Grounded by a small percentage of Cara 300 to provide body and sweetness, Tasting Room – Spicy Rye Ale finishes with lingering hop flavor punctuated by a crispy, spicy finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy copper amber with a medium fluffy reddish white head that retains well and leaves little lacing.

The aroma is sweet grainy caramel malt and some fruity hops.

The flavor is sweet fruity caramel malt with with some rye and spicy hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice fruity hoppy rye.

12oz bottle from the mix pack. Had 2 out of the 3, damn the person that drank the last one. Its basically rye tea. The spicy rye comes through on the typical tea malts with hop accents. Not really for me cause I am bored with tea malts and rye beers.

Dark amber pour with thick, rocky beige foam. Caramel malt nose with some floral touches and maybe a little fruit. The rye leans an earthy note. Medium / light body with moderate fizz and a bitter hoppy finish. The flavor retains the earthiness with some pepper, but dominated by the malt and rye. The flavors are fairly complex. The hops never quite disappear, especially toward the finish.

Quite peppery, which is what I look for in a rye beer. Light and slick with a nice caramel body and a potent hop finish.

Tap at Boulevard Rec Center. Really lovely clear copper pour with gentle lacing. Pineapple and tropical fruit in the nose. Taste is peppery, grain, orange peel, caramel, spicy hops, rye. Finish is lingeringly bitter with a caramel background. Not bad.

The hops actually aren’t that intense or prominent, sort of gives it a fresh, juicy edge though. The rye malts still take center stage, and are balanced nicely by the caramel malt. Pink peppercorn is a really cool addition, but comes off quite mild as well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12floz bottle, BBD: 07.21.2017, part of the current mix twelve pack going for about $14, poured this beer into a pint glass. Copper-bronze in in color presentation. Smells like spring foliage, but has a peppery bite as part of beer meant for steady drinking.

Aroma is rye and mild vinegar/ketchup. The flavor is rye, citrus, malts, a hint of vinegar and a mix of bitter and grapefruit in the finish.
