Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a near white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has notes of bread and rye with a bit of underlying earthiness. Flavor is some what dull with light grain, bread and just a hint of rye.

pours cloudy alomost dirty copper with a small off-white head, little retention. nutty and lightly fruity malts, faint though, spicy and earthy, very herbal and grassy too, almost mineral. moderate carbonation, light body - watery, almost harsh and undesirable spicy-earthy-mineral finish. meh.

Bottle 355ml. Pours brown with low beige head. Minimal lacing. Aroma is of manure, malt, rye. Taste is of malt, rye, slight bitterness, earth, sugar. Palate: Light-medium body. Overall: This beer is not very good. I don’t dig rye anyways.

Small sample from a bottle left unattended. ;) Clear brown with a small white rim that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is of faint odd hops and rye. Taste is slightly sweet, spicy and grainy/doughy. Some rough edges, it had a weird vegetal finish. Body was kind of light, carbonation too. Not sure if this bottle was in prime condition.

Hazy, dirty, dark amber pour with a 2 finger, creamy beige head and high effervescence. Aroma is slightly tangy fruit and grain, cereal, toast, floral and spicy hops and a hint of caramel. Flavor is toast, floral honey, odd sour grainy notes, a bit of caramel spicy and raw rye grain a little grass and floral hops. Light to medium body with a dry, slightly astringent feel throughout, light, but sharp and blanketing carbonation. Decent overall, but it doesn’t seem to really stand out on anything other than rye, it could use a distinct hop note or malty character. The more I drink the better it gets, but still, it doesn’t really interest me.

12 oz bottle from Evergreen Discount. Brown and kind of hazy with a tan head. Malty, spicy rye, bread, light chocolate and caramel, medium sweetness. Light to medium body and a tangy rye finish.

Bottle (12 oz). Hazy amber/brown with a small beige head and little lacing. Aroma of spices, malt/caramel, rye and roasted notes. Taste is about the same. Spicy finish. Medium body. Low to moderate carbonation. Bland.

This was the better of the two tasting session beers I tried. Well balanced, spicy rye and slightly sweet.

csaso (2361) - Missouri, USA - OCT 26, 2013
Bottle - good size thick foamy head, beautiful dark amber color, nice earthy hop aroma and flavor with mildly sweet malt, and mild rye spice - very well balanced - I really like this one!

Pretty tasty all in all; nice peppery notes, a touch weak on the finish, but overall a very drinkable beer. I like it; not the best beer I’ve ever put in my mouth but not one that I’d turn down either.
