Not usually a fan of this type of ale. Smell and colour wasn’t particularly remarkable but this was a very drinkable ale. I would definitely drink this if i seen it in a bar. csaso (2284) - Missouri, USA - OCT 26, 2013
Bottle - good size thick foamy head, beautiful dark amber color, nice earthy hop aroma and flavor with mildly sweet malt, and mild rye spice - very well balanced - I really like this one! shrubber85 (11397) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - NOV 9, 2013
Bottle. Lactic acid, cherry and rye malt aroma. Amber with moderate tan head. Sweet cherry and rye malt flavor. Lightly bitter herbal hops finish. Very nice. SPDickerman (1239) - Texas, USA - DEC 1, 2013
Pours auburn with a small beige head. Smells strongly of rye. Taste is bitter with a bit of rye spiciness. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and present mouth-carbonation, Boulevard Westside Rye Ale finishes with a kiss of bitterness. SSSteve (4006) - - JUL 27, 2014
UPDATED: JUL 29, 2014 bottle from mix pack. hazy amber with e small creamy head. aroma is lighter than its amber color suggests. a toasty flavored beer. after the rye, it emphasizes on the amber and melanoidin malt. lightish body with quite a bit of carbonation. i enjoy this more and more.

12oz. bottle. Aroma of lightly sweet, nutty, toasty caramel malts, fruit and spice, with notes of floral hop, red apple skin, lightly doughy yeast and a touch of citrus. Lightly hazy medium copper color (bottle-conditioned), with a fine, slight, lasting, off-white head. Flavor profile is pleasantly balanced, with a dosage of lightly sweet, honeyish, bready malt and spicy rye tones, combined with a fruity, earthy hop character and finishing with a mild bitterness, lingering lemon citrus and faint pepper. Softly effervescent and mild on the palate, with a quenching feel and a light-medium body. Highly drinkable and enjoyable. Finhead (1761) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - OCT 1, 2013
A hazy, brown pour with a reddish hue and a frothy, off-white head. The aroma has spicy rye with bread and some mild chocolate. It has a light, smooth texture with lively carbonation. The taste is mildly bitter with a dry finish. csbosox (1229) - Prairie Village, Kansas, USA - OCT 13, 2013
Spicy and floral in the nose with a touch of sourdough bread crust and light caramel. Spicy rye, melanoidin rich, floral hops and a balanced finish. A really nice beer. TomDecapolis (4618) - Milton, Delaware, USA - AUG 7, 2013
Pours a deep reddish amber with a medium bubbly/creamy off white head. Aroma of rye, banana, clove, light citrus and caramel. Flavor of carmael, rye, bready malt, pretzels, lightly toasted malt and hints of citrus zest. vyvvy (6466) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - AUG 23, 2013
Pours fairly clear bronze with a small off white head. The aroma has creamy malt, some toast, spiciness and a hearty rye presence. Medium body that is fairly smooth and then has a bit of crispness on the finish with the carbonation. Starts with a toasty malt presence with spicy / tangy rye presence along with a spicy peppery hop presence. It also does have a bit of a rye bread sort of taste to it. The finish has a good amount of the hops shining through, but there is a tangy cheesy taste that sticks around (it does fit with the beer - neither cheesy or tangy is meant negatively). Both tasting room beers in the mix 12 pack are very solid.
