On tap at Boundary Bay, pours a cloudy slightly faded orange with a small off-white head. Aroma of oranges, some tropical fruits, and a touch of biscuity malts. Flavour brings out refreshing citrus notes, a little orange and biscuity malt. Very citrusy and rather dry, with quite a full flavour profile and complexity despite the single hop. Great stuff. Tap at brewery. I assume this is supposed to say single hop not shingle hop. Cloudy copper and smooth mouthfeel. Citrus aroma as youd expect from this hop. Flavor is smooth and balanced beetween the biscuity malt and orange peel citrus flavor. Not sure ive had a single hop beer that wasnt an ipa. Damn tasty. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - DEC 18, 2009
Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Hazy amber, thin to moderate white frothy head, spotty lacing.   Hoppy nose, a little biting, slight earthiness and soil.   Make that a fairly strong earthiness and soil.   Much the same on the tongue.   Nice hoppiness, but could use a little bit more of a malt base.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   A little cereal like on the backside.   Meh, much like their IPA, too earthy.   Decent, good hop aspect, but the earthiness and soil aspect dectract a bit for me.   Otherwise its flavorful and big. Poured orange with a white head. Aroma is gentle, with light floral hops and mandarin orange. The malt is very toasty and a little sweet up front, then turns to floral hops and a long bitter grapefruit finish. I love this stuff a lot and wish I had more access to it. It really puts forward the flavor of the amarillo hops well. IndianaRed (4629) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 8, 2009
On Tap at the BP Hazy orange with just a skin ofa ’head’. Faint citrusy aroma. Sweet malty flavor with moderate cotrus spic hop notes. Carbomation is quitesoft.Bitternessisslightl grassy and woody. The lingering bite isalso fairly soft.
Middle of the road, drinkable IPA.
A decent showcase of the Amarillo.

On tap at Naked City: Yellow-orange haze was nice. Light and prickly on the tongue. Fruity notes of orange, grapefruit, and light lemon. Light malt flavors of toast, chalk, powdered caramel (whatever that means), and faint toffee. Decent beer, though Simcoe’s not my favorite hop. Bradrcr (806) - Renton, Washington, USA - JUL 15, 2009
7/15/09 on draft at Brouwer’s, Seattle, Wa. Aroma is grassy flora forward with only faint sweet malt. Appearance is cloudy orange yellow with a very well maintained white head and lacing. Flavor is still hop dominant, earthy, with a sweet/sour malt balance. Mouthfeel is medium/full bodied with a suprisingly low carb texture. Overall, more IPA than pale. Bronze to mustard yellow with poofy, but well formed, off-white head. Pleasant citrusy aroma and flavors. Very smooth body. Easy citrusy bitterness. Flavorful and easy drinking. humulushound (244) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 24, 2009
Love those Amarillo hops. Had this hazy, golden-orange ale on tap at BBB and B. Came out of the blocks with a pleasant fruity/floral hop aroma with elements of pineapple, grapefruit, lime and evergreens.
Flavor is initially honey sweet but quickly turns to a biscuit mid-palate and then those grapefruity hops dominate to a bitter and somewhat spicy, lingering finish. Moderate palate. Overall a solid single hop IPA that expresses much of the potential of the Amarillo varietal. bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - JUN 22, 2009
Pours hazy apricot with a lacy white head. Sweet grapefruit and pineapple aroma. Medium body and light carbonation. The same sweet grapefruit and pineapple show up in the taste, with just a bit of toffee to hold them up. This beer is a very nice showcase for the goodness of Amarillo hops.
