COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong ale or "Winter Warmer" with dark red-brown color and a very rich malty flavor. Dry-hopped lightly with Cascades for a pleasant aroma and slightly spicy hop finish. This big beer is deceptively strong, yet tastes very smooth thanks to extra long cold conditioning.Original Gravity: 1.072

Dark brown with ruby tint. Fruity and malty aroma, maybe a bit of spruce. Caramel and crystal malts play a prominent role in this one. Light butterscotch flavour, fruity. Low hop aroma, but a decent amount of bitterness rounding it off Similar to their scotch ale.

Pours dark amber with a small head. Nose is toffee, pine, and cedar. Flavor is malty, with some citrus hops. Pretty good, but body seems a little thin for the style.

(22oz bottle, courtesy of AmEricanbrew) Pours a hazy amber-brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of caramel, cherry, light pine, roasted malt, and earth. Flavor of cherry, caramel, noticeable oxidation, and toffee.

Pint @ The Traveler. Decent winter ale. Not too thick, not too hoppy. Kind of Goldilocks. Can’t believe I haven’t rated this before.

Draft @ St. Augustines. Reddish dark brown. Malty sweet aroma. Smells boozy. Spices, mostly nutmeg, are subtle and dry our the malts nicely. Not bad at all.

Dark brown color with red shades, and creamy head. Ordinary aroma and flavor of caramel, with some malt; good body structure; it has some spices, both in the aroma and flavor, cinnamon and nutmeg apparently; bold bitterness. Good but not exciting.

On tap at Rokko Beer Diner, 7.2%. It pours a dark ruby brown that is almost black in the glass with a thick fizzy beige head plus good lacing. The aroma is malty with fruity fig plus candied plum notes. Medium to light bodied with a soft smooth mouthfeel but a bit chalky. The taste is nutty, light chocolate, leathery, earthy, sweet candied fruits like apricots... Kind of getting mild fruit cake notes & hints of spices in the finish. Pretty nice enough winter warmer.

Deep brown. Sweet malt, toffee, light toasted malt. There seems to be some slightly underdeveloped wet malt in this one. The booze really plays here, too. Decent.

Nice sweet vanilla aroma. Taste is malty enough, but came off kind of chemically. Balanced bitterness. Finish was funky and off. I was expecting more, oh well.
