COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong ale or "Winter Warmer" with dark red-brown color and a very rich malty flavor. Dry-hopped lightly with Cascades for a pleasant aroma and slightly spicy hop finish. This big beer is deceptively strong, yet tastes very smooth thanks to extra long cold conditioning.Original Gravity: 1.072

22. Dark mahogany with a thick, creamy tan head that falls quickly away to a little float of sudsy film and a thick web of lace around the glass. Somewhat sour, sweaty aroma with dark sugars afloat.. Medium body with some present carb. Lots of brown bread, black bread, leaves, and caramel on the mid-palate. Some booze bites near the finish, along with some spicy hops. Not quite as good as I remembered it...not unpleasant, but rawer and rougher.

From a 22 ounce bottle--Poured a deep amber-mahogany body with a creamy beige head. Creamy, hoppy, sweet, nutty, bready nose. Light toasty crisp hops presence. Toffee, vanilla, citrus finish. Very tasty!

On tap at Eastside Club in Olympia. Pours dark brown with a thin white head that is quickly fleeting. Has a big chocolate malt flavor with a nice licorice backwash. There’s a big chocolate aftertaste that lasts a long time. The palate is only medium and might even be considered a bit harsh.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber brown with a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma combines bread and biscuit notes with some sweet grains underlying. Flavor has sweet grains and a touch of caramel with some biscuit and a bit of toffee.

Dark brown with ruby tint. Fruity and malty aroma, maybe a bit of spruce. Caramel and crystal malts play a prominent role in this one. Light butterscotch flavour, fruity. Low hop aroma, but a decent amount of bitterness rounding it off Similar to their scotch ale.

Pours dark amber with a small head. Nose is toffee, pine, and cedar. Flavor is malty, with some citrus hops. Pretty good, but body seems a little thin for the style.

Pint @ The Traveler. Decent winter ale. Not too thick, not too hoppy. Kind of Goldilocks. Can’t believe I haven’t rated this before.
