solid, typical hoppy sensation of aroma and flavors. very agressive in the description is an understatement as the hops are very strong and full of pine and leaf flavors. overall incredible IPA GJF (1520) - Mount Vernon, Iowa, USA - JUN 30, 2011
On tap at the Tap House in Seattle. It’s very hoppy. Thick, chewy body, and a dry, clean finish. Good. TAR (2802) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - APR 12, 2011
Unfiltered rufous. Creamy white head exhibits good retention. Humdrum nose of jasmine, pine, toasted malt, and peach. Mild diacetyl and floral hops. Deeply resinous upfront, coupled with honey-doused toasted malt and a salvaging hop punch boasting clean notes of juicy citrus. Vivid pine-charged bitterness rests snugly at the rear of the tongue while the noticeably oily hops numb and tingle the tip. Alcohol overexerts itself throughout. Delicate acidity uplifts and cuts the resinous character, though diacetyl somewhat abbreviates and dulls much of the bright hoppiness. Closes borderline balanced with tones of toasted caramel atop a firm pinewood- and oily-hop base. Decent, overall, but as with many IIPAs this greatly lacks hop flavor and boasts way too much caramel and resin which gives the floral softness no chance to flourish. Also, very grainy and alcoholic, with a rather unclean/yeasty nose. Uninspiring, ultimately. douglas88 (9797) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 8, 2011
Bomber thanks to BVC. Pours a clear dark amber color with a large grey head. A nice aroma of grains, citrus, pine, earth. The flavor is very nice; rich caramel sweetness pushing this toward a super hoppy barley wine, bitterness, pine, the floral hops are massive. Almost perfumy. Very nice, aggressive. Easy to drink. highibus (823) - Vail, Arizona, USA - JAN 22, 2011
On cask at the brewpub. Amazing aroma of grapefruit. Nice copper color with fluffy white head. Perfect cask temp really let’s the hoppiness come out. Intense but not overwhelming bitterness. Hides the alcohol well too. This is a superb beer.

Had this beer from the cask at boundary bay. Best beer I’ve had by a long shot. The aroma is a perfect tempered grapefruit citrus. The beer itsel is smooth and was served at the perfect temperature. The beer had a perfect, light-tan head and a rich caramel color. Yum! mcberko (19871) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 5, 2010
On tap at Boundary Bay Brewpub, pours hazy golden orange. Very fruity on the nose, with peach and mango, and of course a barrage of hops. Flavour of intense, slightly bitter hops, and strong peach, mango and grapefruit. Really well-balanced - extremely delicious. anders37 (27647) - Malmö, SWEDEN - NOV 11, 2010
Draft @ Collins Pub, Seattle, WA. Pours a hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity hoppy grapefruit aroma. Fruity malty hoppy piney grapefruit flavor. Has a long malty bitter hoppy harsh grapefruit finish. desurfer (1302) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - OCT 26, 2010
Cask at the brewpub in Bellingham. I’ll be honest up front and admit that cask IPAs are my holy grail, but this is really that good. Fine carbonation, strong alcohol but mediated by the warm serving temp, and fresh, rich hops. It’s a beer lover’s dream come true. beerguy101 (5364) - Newark, California, USA - SEP 22, 2010
Sampled at GABF on 9/17/2010. This Imperial India Pale Ale pours a slightly hazy yellow gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is floral and fruity, slightly sweet. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and floral. Decent balance. Good carbonation. A medium bitter IPA. Very drinkable. Hints of orange and orange rind at the finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
