Nice dry woody oak up front on top of sweet dark fruit chocolate and roasted malts. Dark black pour, thin tan head. The flavors starts with dark fruit, moves through some dark chocolate, brown sugar and has a nice dry fresh oaky finish. Lingering roast as well as residual sugars dry out but coat the palate. mcberko (17178) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 5, 2010
On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe, pours black with a tan head. A little unusual aroma of banana (?!), roasted malt, some smoke, a little wood and brandy. Flavour reveals this same banana, along with oatmeal, roasted malt and a little peat. Odd, but most excellent. Not very similar to the original Imperial Oatmeal Stout that Boundary Bay does.
