22. Thanks, skoisirius! Pours crystal clear deep ruby with the briefest of tan heads. Caramel and molasses on the nose along with the tiniest hint of smoke. Medium body with nice creamy and velvety overtones. Caramel, molasses, and custard on the mid-palate. Long, hot, boozy, sharp bitter finish. This is young yet, but in a couple of years this’ll likely be quite a lovely little thing. skoisirius (1908) - Earth, Washington, USA - DEC 24, 2007
22 oz 2007 vintage. Carmalized banana nose. Hints of alcohol as well. Sweet malt up front with dark and bitter fruit throughout the body. Hop bitter beauty and much more fruit emerges as the brew warms. Ends of a great blend of sweet and bitter flavors. Alcohol noticeable. Aged, this brew is fantastic as well! boboski (1095) - Alabama, USA - NOV 11, 2007
A thin, light beige head recedes to clusters of fat bubbles immediately. A very life-emitting, soft pink glow extends from a murky and deep amber/russet
coloration. The aroma is sherry-imbued caramel with grape intentions. Brown sugar and hints of smoked treacle waft in. Mild hoppiness is stuck behind
the wall of malts that are freely but softly flowing from the glass. The bottle is very fresh, and from the initial impressions and the amount of sherry and
underlying port characteristics, this will be best fresh and is nicely developed and adequately brewery-aged. Plenty of citrusy(apricot and ginger notes)
hops are noticeable with the temperature rising and impart very fresh grapefruit and orange with a soft piney backdrop and earthy fig skins. Alcohol is
well concealed. The flavor is very sweet and lush. Caramel and grapeskin notes rule the landscape here, followed by plenty of bitterness and some
mellow smokiness. The finish is warming, smooth, mildly bitter, with sweet caramel lingering. The mouthfeel is soft and full bodied, succulent. A great
interpretation of the style and an absolute thrill to drink. Quake1028 (638) - Tampa, Florida, USA - SEP 30, 2007
Courtesy boboski. Plum colored body, no head as expected. Swirling the beer brings a small ring of bubbly foam. Aromas of dark fruits - plums and grapes, sherry and biscuit dough. Flavors of tropical dark fruits, plums, and that same sherry heat. Lively carbonation, medium bodied. Slightly sticky mouthfeel. Finish is toffee sweet, nutty and medium length. Good BW. Courtesy of boboski. Color is fairly typical for the style, a rich deep amber. Aroma is malt forward, with an omnipresent citrus peel, sweet dough and a touch of hops. Flavor is more agressive than the aroma would have you believe, with the hops jumping to the fore front. Warming alcohol works well.

Courtesy boboski. Pours a cloudy maroon orange with pretty much no head. Bready caramel aroma, dark malts, and some dark fruits, but not much. The flavor is alot of caramel malts, really sharp bitterness, and bready yeast. Tastes pretty standard for a barleywine but very fresh tasting and sharp on the flavor. Pretty tasty. Sweet caramel finish turns into bitter malts. Pretty decent. goldtwins (4319) - Nesconset, New York, USA - SEP 12, 2007
Poured a hazy amber color. the aroma was very fruity with notes of cherry and grape. The flavor was malty with citrusy hops and a hint of pine. Dry and moderately bitter. Warming sensation in the chest. kp (10880) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 1, 2007

Dark orange color. aroma of nuthin but malt & alcohol. sweet, strong alcohol burn finish. CaptainCougar (7634) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - MAY 5, 2007
Pours a transparent bright copper with a spotty, thin off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramely malt has a touch of light fruity esters. Body has some drier alcoholic notes and semi-sweet caramel maltiness toward a warming finish. Needs more sweet malty balance to hide the alcohol better.
