Yknow, I wouldnt know a chestnut if it hit me in the face. Clear bronze, no head. Sweet cigar tobacco andtannian aroma. Peaty, chewing tobaco, ceary flavor. Interesting. Medium clear body, dusty stogie finish. Off the beaten path, enjoyable French PA. On tap, Angel Trumpet, Phoenix AZ.

A mid, reddish-brown coloured beer with a weak white head. A slightly sour aroma, but rounded, dark, ripened fruit and as expected, a certain amount of nuttiness that does stray into a hint of meatiness, which is met with a yeasty smell, reminiscent of Marmite. A fizzy but medium mouthfeel. The initial flavour is sour, yeasty and fruity, but this is soon followed by a more smoother, sweet nutty taste with malt that elevates the vanilla to the fore, right the way to the finish.

Clear amber beer, small off white head. Slightly soft palate with a sprinkle of very fine carbonation. Sweet malt with a semi cream and light paper vibe. A little tangy dried fruits under the sweet chesnut. Semi dry finish. Mild minerals. Okay.

Choć nie lubię jadalnych kasztanw to piwo wypadło nawet dobrze. Trochę posmak nijaki i karmelowo-mdły. Pietra z Korsyki wydaje mi się bardziej ciekawsza jeśli chodzi o kasztanowe piwo.

330ml bottle kindly shared by Finn. Near-clear amber body, bubbly, slightly off-white head. Fine lacing down the glass. Inviting aroma of herbal hops, nuts and caramel. Flavoured with nuts, almond, milk caramel together with a touch of vanilla oak. Dry, bittersweet ending. Different and quite likeable (at Finns in Troms, 02.01.2013).

Flaske 0,33l fra Brune Rousse Houblon, Nice. Brygg 84. Delt med Rune under rateseanse i H9 2 Jan 13. Amber p farge. Hyt tett skum som varer. Litt lacing. God blomster / grnnsaksaroma. Smaken det samme med litt frukt & honning i tillegg. Svakt syrlig og litt karamellpreget avslutning.

Aroma is spices and nuttiness from the chestnuts. The flavor is nutty sweetness, an undercurrent of fruit, a hint of the spices and a somewhat tangy/mostly smooth finish.

Pours thin. Looks like a typical French amber. Aroma is earthy, some sweet malt. Taste is sweet malt, vanilla, honey. No bitterness. Chestnut comes through towards the end. You have to roll it over the tongue quite a few times. Not bad - my first chestnut beer. Would like to try some more, as I think its not a bad combination.
