Opaque bright brown with a one-finger head that drops to the rim, tiny dots of lace. Taste is slightly sour caramel toffee and malt, the two sides intertwining beautifully through to a short lightly bittered finish. Well-conceived and highly drinkable.

Bottle: Served in a Bourgogne des Flandres glass: Medium sized pretty vast and slowly changing vanilla beige ish colored foamy head on top of a clear dark ruby to red brown colored beer. Aromas of malts, brown sugars, (wild) yeast, light toast, leaves, hint of wood and some sweets. Flavour is a mix of toast, barley malts, sweet and bitter, crispy, yeast, dark fruits like prunes and figs, hints of wood/sweet wood. Aftertaste is malty, dark fruits and toast, light sweet, some leaves/light autumnal herbs. Low carbo, soft creamy silky mouthfeel, medium body and a thick creamy light sticky texture. Nice refreshing though a bit thin...

Bottle: Medium off white head which disappears slow and leaves a light sticky ashy lacing on top of a hazy dark red ruby colored beer. Smell hints of red fruit, red fruit sweets, light sour ish tints, some light sour ish yeast and some sweet ish wood. Taste isa bit sweet mix of barley malts (sweetness), sugars, hint of wood, some yeast, fruits (more like red fruits), cherries, berries, grapes, caramel, light sour. Aftertaste is sweet, lighter sour, yeasty wood and some fruits. Low to medium carbo, soft mouthfeel, good medium to lightly fuller body and a light creamy texture. Decent but bit too much on the sweet side.

33cl bottle from Terre de Boissons. Very deep clear ruby colour with lasting beige head. Dry brown malt and some rich fruit on the aroma. There is a hint of perfumed sourness to it. Its fine. Just a little artificial I feel. Sweetness from the malt, some sourness, quite fruity. The fruit is what, plums, like Victoria plums. It grew on me. I tend to like Flemish sours and I guess this falls into that frame. Bit too sweet maybe. To a non sour head this is probably quite sour, but as a true lambic fan, it could do with a bit more sourness, but it does have a sour and hop finish. The more I drink it and the finish in particular I do like. I do like a Flemish sour. Yes I do like it. Not a great beer, but one Id drink in a bar again if it was on just cos its a tad quirky.

Sour fruit, caramel, but cola like and medium sweet finish. Its an ok beer but lacks a special kick.

Cola colored pour with a thin off-white head. Aroma is sour cherries, caramelized sugar, come cola sweetness. Flavor is similar. Cherries, caramel. Kind of reminded me of a high end cherry coke.
Earlier Rating: 3/26/2011 Total Score: 3.6
Beautiful ruby red pour with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet candied fruit with a bit of a sour note. Flavor is nicely complex. Flanders fruitiness balanced nicely with a bit of a sour kick. Nice beer.

Bottle @ home.

An interesting beer, has a cola sort of look, with a slight funky aroma, has a sour cherry taste. Nice.

I was expecting a bruin/doppel, but this was just too sour. Too thin. Not at all a memorable beer experience. Will return to re-rate it with a more fair prespective one day.

Bottle. The look is a beige colored head, brownish red in color, and cleanish. The smell is sweet, tart, wood, candy, toffee, and fruit. The taste is too sweet, very sugary, fruit, and eh.
