Vintage 2001 from my grand-father in law -- Brewed for Copimex s.a. >> bière brune dense avec un beau col épais persistant. La mienne est périmée depuis 2001. Son nez sent le bouchon la madérisation la levure et une forte oxydation avec un arrière goût métallique suret. L’attaque goûte fort le bouchon oxydé. Ensuite arrive un goût de caramel épais chocolaté et sirupeux. L’arrière goût est épicé cacaoté avec de l’oxydation. Surprenement, je reçois pas mal d’amertume en finale sur des notes sèches et minérales à la fois. JefVerstraete (3558) - Oosterzele, BELGIUM - MAR 25, 2015
Bottle @ home. Dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma of toffee and caramel, some spices. Malty. Metallic finish. Bit unbalanced. Ok. Alengrin (5629) - BELGIUM - AUG 10, 2014
Stereotypical Belgian Christmas ale commissioned by Coprimex and bottled both on 33 cl and on 75 cl. Off-white, moussy but not very thick foam, opening under the influence of the alcohol, colour a very dark ruby red, practically clear. Sweet fruity and malty aroma of candi, port wine, dates, coriander, raisins, banana, pear, liquorice; taste sweetish, malty, candi sugar, pleasurable spicy notes, mild sourishness for balance, in the end lightly roasted bitter with some warm alcohol and the sweetness of the candi sugar also lingering a bit. In all, a correctly made winter Scotch. kraddel (8737) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - DEC 17, 2013
Pours very dark brown . Small white head
smell is aged - metal aspect overrules
Still a strong carbo
Taste is metallic , very dusty . Not the best Swaroga (2223) - Warszawa, POLAND - NOV 16, 2013
25cl bottle. Dark brown with small to medium head.
NOSE : yeast aromas of cheese, banana. Caramel, toffee and dried fruits.
SIP : medium body with oily texture and strong carbonation. Cloying sweet start with flavors of burned caramel and dried fruits. Further on cooked fruits get a bit dry and smoked notes. It finished with the same fruity and malty notes but the booze comes up and spiciness makes the surface with earthy residue on the tongue.
OVERALL : could be interesting to develop more the smoked fruits aromas but the flavor is narrow and lacks longer finish and more complex nuances.

Bottle at The Kulminator, Antwerp, Belgie, 19.03.11 I think it was from 1999 Nose is a little musty and aged as one might expect. Soft carbonation in the mouth. Dark brown in colour, light beige head, some sweetness remains, but touch mouldering in mouth also, its not unpleasant but likely well past its best. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1
